  • Adults-only bell tent site with views of the Brecon Beacons
  • A 10-minute drive to Llandeilo; half an hour to Carmarthen
  • Secluded site in woodland, with kitchens and an indoor dining area
Pistyll Gwyn is a hillside site on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, with just a handful of bell tents. Expect a good serving of peace and quiet at this adults-only spot in the leafy Carmarthenshire countryside… There's little faff with moving in here, as everything is already set up for you. The bell tents are niftily designed with seating area, breakfast bar and a comfy double bed. There’s a fully equipped kitchen at the ready too, plus a private shower, charging facilities for your devices, and a handy dining hut for those days when it’s not warm enough to eat outside (as can happen in Wales from time to time…). Secluded the site may be, but it’s only a 10-minute drive to Llandeilo to pick up bits from handy local stores or sneak in a pint in the pub. For outdoorsy types, the Brecon Beacons have plenty of walking and cycling options – from circular walks to day-long bike trails – and you can be on the beach at Llansteffan in less than an hour. Golf and hot-air ballooning are available locally, and there’s plenty for culture vultures to check off their lists too, from ancient Carmarthen Castle to the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
