General

  • Beautiful grounds and top-notch on-site facilities
  • Adventure playground, table tennis and video games room for kids
  • Pool, gym, sauna and steam room available

The pristine perfection of this park has earned plaudits aplenty, including ‘Best Site in the West of England’. Encircled by the beautiful Quantock Hills, its views are pretty flawless too…

The facilities at Quantock Orchard Caravan Park are extensive, and as well manicured as the grounds. There’s an outdoor pool open May to September, and a decent-sized gym, which also houses a sauna and steam room for visitors to bubble and steam away their cares. On top of all that come a well-provisioned shop, wifi, and good essential amenities, including plenty of service points for motorhomes, water and so forth.

Little monkeys can scale, swing and slide their way around the adventure playground, or have a go at pool, table tennis and the video games in the games room. The owners also welcome tail-waggers, provided they’re kept on a lead.

    Absolutely nothing

    Disliked:

We travelled with out 1 year old grandson. We arrived and couldn’t believe how bad it was. We decided to stay as I am all for not judging a book by its cover and it was just a base after all! What a mistake! The mattress springs pinged and creaked every time we moved. The seats were too disgusting to sit on. The baby was covered in muck from the floor after a few minutes. It was too dangerous for him to move about at all. The gas fire had no front grill. The boiler had black soot over the front and looked dangerous . The smell on the shower was unbelievable and made me urge every time I opened it.
Couldn’t get out of there fast enough the next morning.
Found a lovely place just a few miles away with beautiful grounds, private beach, swimming pool and fantastic friendly hosts!
Thank goodness for Home farm park!

From the manager...

This appears not to be one of our holiday homes , we do not have a static with these colours, the majority of the holiday homes we use for guests are privately owned and fairly new, they are professionally cleaned between gusts to a very high standard as you can see from the other reviews one of which is 10/10.
this person must have an axe to grind as it is completely untrue
the fact that it is anonymous and there is a connection to another park says a lot.

Beautiful setting under a oak tree canopy. Very quiet. Caravan was clean.

    Disliked:

No one at reception when we arrived or when we wanted to check out. With a young family stuck in a full car it was very stressful.

From the manager...

WE do our best to help people, but these guests arrived well after dark, the office closes at 5.30 PM they arrived 3 hours later at 8.30 PM of course there was no one on duty at that time , this should not be expected.
It was very lucky we did not go out that evening.

Damp. Dirty, lack of kitchen equipment, gas fire dangerous

From the manager...

Again this customer brought a dog we don't use the best vans for people who bring pets, it's not fair on other guests who don't, they get the best vans.
The fire was damaged by the previous guest we have a new element on order, we told the customer not to use the fire and provided them with an electric fire to use, so this comment is un-fair.

Be aware you are renting an older style caravan - but it is comfortabl10/14/2020

Site is well placed to visit Quantocks, Exmoor, Somerset Levels and coast. Quiet and peaceful. Saw red deer from site (in fields in distance). Caravan was warm. We didn't need electric heater, just used gas fire - but appreciated it being provided. Large TV and DVD player provided. Microwave and toaster.
Caravan was large and in fairly good state considering how old it is. You have to be aware that it is an old model and therefore there is a degree of wear and tear. We paid £32.50 a night, and this seemed reasonable price for an old unit.
Good hot and powerful shower although floor is cracked.

    Disliked:

Although happy with overall cleanliness of the van - the grill pan and oven tin were both left dirty from previous occupant. . Cooking is for me, part of my holiday - disappointed with motley assortment of crockery and cutlery and no casserole dishes. Electrical equipment old and not PAT tested (kettle took ages to boil). Had to use lighter to light gas fire, as piezo got stuck/did not work. Bit 'tatty' e.g. faded and frayed curtains- which could easily be put right at minimal expense.

From the manager...

Good review overall - however this customer brought a DOG we can't use the best vans for people who bring pets, it's not fair on the rest of the customers .

Always a great little site for a few days away or an overnight stop off . The guy who runs the place is a good sort and bends over backwards to help out with most things. Amenities are nice and clean, good showers.
The shop has always got a fridge full of cider so all good. Recommended 😀👍🤙

Local attractions

After stuffing themselves silly in one of the foodie pubs nearby, guests can hire mountain bikes or take a hike through the glorious landscapes surrounding the park, with eyes peeled for the local wildlife, which includes Quantock ponies and red deer. There are also loads of options for golfing, fishing and horse riding in the area.

Buses run to many places around and about, but many visitors choose to let the train take the strain instead. A gentle saunter from the park is Crowcombe Heathfield Station, one of the stops on the scenic West Somerset Railway, whose buff heritage engines steam through miles of lovely views to the coastal town of Minehead.

Naturally speaking, there are all sorts of interesting geographical phenomena to discover: brutally beautiful Exmoor, the plunging Cheddar Gorge, fossils and rock formations at Kilve beach, and Wookey Hole’s underground caves and lakes. Those who enjoy poking around posh country piles should check out Dunster Castle, and the handsome gardens at Hestercombe House.
