  • Peaceful pop-up site for Glastonbury Festival weekend
  • At the foot of Glastonbury Tor, just over a mile from the town centre
  • Close to the festival's red gate, with morning and evening transport
Yes, it’s the Glastonbury Festival, but not quite as you know it… Glastonbury Outdoor Living is a pop-up site that’s open for the duration of the festival to provide a peaceful off-site accommodation option. If you’re keen on the idea of the festival but reckon the experience will be vastly improved by the ability to get a good night’s sleep, this could well be the place for you – it’s a few minutes’ drive from the festival’s red gate and there’s transport provided in the mornings and evenings from Wednesday to Sunday, so you won't miss out on any of the musical action, performances or other antics. In between your trips to the main site you’ll be staying at a small family-friendly site that’s been designed for relaxation time to help you decompress. Numbers on site have been capped at a sensible limit to make sure there's plenty of peace and space for everyone to chill out and take in the lovely views over the Somerset Levels and up to Glastonbury Tor. Along with all that space, you’re likely to be delighted to hear that you’ll have access to toilets and showers, thus minimising your need to interact with the festival’s famed facilities…

Local attractions

The festival’s likely to consume most of your time here, of course – it’s got a reputation for being the world’s largest greenfield performing arts festival, with heaps of music, circus, cabaret, comedy and theatre events alongside the headline acts. And the people-watching opportunities are pretty legendary too… If the madness gets a bit much though, you might like to find an hour or few to escape into the local area and clear your head – perhaps for a walk up to Glastonbury Tor (15 minutes’ stroll) and down to the Chalice Well. Alternatively, it’s about a mile to Glastonbury town centre to visit the abbey and King Arthur’s Tomb or explore all the indie shops and cafés. There’s more shopping to be done at Clarks Village (10 minutes' drive) – handy to know if it turns out to be one of those very muddy years at the festival. If you're not in a rush to get home at the end of the festival, perhaps you’d like to spend the Monday taking in the sights of Wookey Hole caves (20 minutes) and Cheddar Gorge (35 minutes) or stopping by to see the shiny vehicles at Haynes Motor Museum (half an hour).
