- Family-run small glamping site five miles from Maidstone
- Within a half-hour drive of vineyards in Biddenden and Staplehurst
- Swimming pool, games room and indoor/outdoor kitchen with comfy lounge
Meander through the apple orchards between the Kentish villages of Coxheath and Hunton and you’ll find your spot at All Seasons Glamping. This family-run rural site is surrounded by fruit trees and has gorgeous views over the Weald of Kent, giving it a properly peaceful vibe (you’d never guess you were a mere five miles from Maidstone).
Handily for those who like the occasional glass of vino, apples are not the only fruit that grows locally – the vineyards of Biddenden and Staplehurst are worth a wander, and perhaps a sample or two. Elsewhere around the area are plenty of fresh-air antics, including horse riding, fishing and alfresco movies at the UK’s biggest drive-in cinema.
Facilities on site include a swimming pool, a games room, a cosy TV lounge and a heated social area with comfy sofas to chill out on. You needn't haul your own cooking kit here as there's a gas barbecue and an indoor kitchen, and a cool box for each unit. In season guests are free to pluck fruit from the trees to munch on, too.
Each cosy accommodation unit has heating and a firepit for chillier days. Bed linen, duvets and pillows are provided so you can afford to travel light (fab news if you're arriving on the train to Maidstone East, 15 minutes' drive away).

There’s loads of gorgeous countryside to explore locally – the folks on site can point you towards the best walking trails (many of which handily pass by a pub), or you can join a horseback hack from the riding stables five minutes’ drive away. There’s a huge coarse fishery 10 minutes away at Monk Lakes, and all sorts of open-air activity at Maidstone’s Mote Park (including a BMX track and a model railway).
If you fancy trying out some local tipples, there are tours and tastings to be had at Hush Heath Winery and Biddenden Vineyards, both of which are less than half an hour away by car. Beer drinkers may also like to make the trip to the Shepherd Neame brewery, 40 minutes away.
Head to Leeds Castle, 20 minutes away, and you’ll most likely easily fill a day out with all the activities around the 500-acre estate: falconry displays, punting and adventure playgrounds are popular picks (along with castle itself, of course).
For evenings ents, make the 15-minute journey to the drive-in cinema at the Hop Farm for classic and current movies.
