Chapelfield Camping at Godshill

Second field has level pitches that were spacious and site was quiet
Site had shower that were clean and hot
Portaloo toilets that were kept clean
Friendly staff
Tuk Tuk available to save the walk to the pub, pick up service was provided as well

Was windy for August and our plots were exposed to the unusual north wind.

The whole campsite staff was very helpful always had a smile on their faces. Great idea with the fire pits kept us very warm in the evening and made a delicious jacket spuds in the pit.The whole family atmosphere was paramount lovely to see children going back to basics and playing and not on tech that was definitely the reasons why we came camping to give my children a break from it all and it certainly did that! They played and it was great to see it. Even tho the toilet was porter loos they was very clean.The washing up facilities only had cold water but we just boiled the kettle for hot water.

Nothing to dislike about camping here.

The staff were great and incredibly helpful. Decent facilities including a little shop for essentials you may forget. The phone charging station was really helpful! Close to a pub, beautiful walks and lots of activities (water park, high ropes, maize maze).

We were placed on a pitch on a slope which was tricky as our tent’s integrity is better on a flat surface. Our pitch was also right behind two large groups which meant it wasn’t as peaceful if a stay as we’d hoped for. In future I’d ask for a pitch along the trees where you only have neighbours either side rather than being in the middle where you have neighbours in front, back and sides.

Friendly and helpful staff, tuc tuc rides. Clean facilities, helpful little things like being able to charge your phone for free etc and ice packs. Really enjoyed the ice cream van that came round the campsite everynight. Also enjoyed the different food trucks that they had arranged to attend on different days in the week. Great food!

Our pitch was on a slope which meant our beds slipped down and touched the outside of the tent every night, Which didn't help in the rain. It was so steep, that our little boy who has just started walking really struggled to do any walking while at the campsite.

Pitch was on a hill...not ideal at all. There was alternative pitch’s but not given those....only the large tents were on the outside of the fields (no hills). Struggled to make the BBQ and table safe due to being in a hill. Weather was so poor and as we were in the middle of the field we had no chance against the wind but those on the outside of the field were OK. Had to leave only 1 night into a 3 night stay...no credit note offered. A number of family's who had to leave were not offered credit’s.

well run friendly campsite, clean facilities and coping well with the covid limitations.
The little shop was handy, the fire pit hire was good, close enough to the pub, and loads of good walks near by.

The wind! not much they could do about that though.
