General
- Friendly family-run site set over eight acres of pretty countryside
- A 15-minute drive from Stowmarket and an hour from the coast
- Walking trail on site; small pond next door for fishing
Take it slow in the scenic Suffolk countryside at Grange Farm Lodge, a friendly family-run site next door to a little pond for fishing and with access to rural roams on a path set out around the property.
Well-behaved dogs are very welcome to join you in such pursuits at this park plonked just outside the small village of Wyverstone – the site stands in eight acres of land and has sizeable pitches that allow plenty of room for the full family (as well as the chickens that roam around the grounds).
If you do decide to investigate attractions further afield, the park makes a fine base for exploring. Stowmarket, the nearest sizeable town, is around a 15-minute drive away, and the coastal towns of Orford, Southwold and Aldeburgh are all within an hour or so.
And for sorting sustenance? The neighbouring village of Bacton has eats and drinks covered with a small local shop and a village pub that serves food and a range of local beers, plus Elmswell (10 minutes) has a small supermarket and a selection of takeaways. If you’re planning picnics or barbecues, pick up goodies at the free-range farm shop in Wyverstone.
Toilets, showers and a washing-up area are all available on site, as is a warm welcome from the family that runs the place.

Thank you for your comments and for staying with us. The electric is 5 amp and as with many small campsites this is a perfectly adequate supply if people use the recommended low voltage appliances. We are sorry if this impacted on your stay. Kind regards Heather and Gee |

SPACIOUS, CLEAN, LEVEL
From the manager...
Thank you for your comments. We are pleased that overall you had an enjoyable stay. With regard to the entrance, this was only made the main entrance due to covid guidelines and we are sadly on clay soil. As I'm sure you are aware the amount of continuous heavy rain over that 48 hours was unusual to say the least and we are sorry if this impacted on your stay. Everything we could do to rectify the situation was done as soon as we were able to address the problem. We hope you will visit again in the future and thank you for staying. |

Local attractions
Set off for Stowmarket to swing by the shops in this market town (15 minutes' drive), heading further to Ipswich as well for a larger urban area to explore (35 minutes). Bury St Edmunds is yet another settlement to add to your list for the lush Abbey Gardens and its IPA Greene King brewery (half an hour).
Wine more your type of tipple? Take a tour of the Dedham Vale vineyard (50 minutes), but try to avoid overindulging as there’s still so much to see in Suffolk: think wanders in the Haughley Park gardens and bluebell woods (15 minutes), forays to the 17th-century Flatford Mill (45 minutes) and rides on the Mid Suffolk Light Railway (20 minutes).
Sticking with the outdoors, get over to Orford Ness National Nature Reserve (an hour) for walks on the waymarked trails in Europe’s biggest vegetated shingle spit. If you’d rather be by the beach, stroll across the sands flanking the seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold (an hour); the later settlement is also known for its clothes, antiques and art boutiques, so you can also easily blend some browsing into your break.
