General

  • Off-grid, rural site on a five-acre paddock at a family-run farm
  • Five minutes’ drive from Wragby and 15 minutes from Market Rasen
  • Free-range eggs and wood available to purchase at the park

Linger in Lincolnshire during a hol at Grange Paddock Camping, a site in a rural, off-grid setting on a family-run farm around a five-minute drive from the Lincolnshire Wolds.

This park is made up of a five-acre paddock – with plenty of space to spread out – in West Torrington, set between Wragby (five minutes’ drive) and Market Rasen (15 minutes), a couple of towns with plenty of pubs, restaurants and supermarkets.

Being on a farm means guests have access to fresh free-range eggs and wood harvested from the park’s trees for the campfire (on request), so breakfast is covered in the mornings and warmth is sorted in the evenings.

During the hours in between head out and explore spots including the Bardney Limewoods National Nature Reserve (15 minutes), Lincoln (half an hour) and Sutton-on-Sea (50 minutes).

Wragby is also worth a wander round while you’re running errands: it has a couple of 19th-century manors, a Grade II-listed church and a tall old mill. A regular bus links it with Horncastle (20 minutes) and Skegness (50 minutes).

Portaloos and water are supplied on site.

Overall, stay was ok but much too cold at night08/30/2021

  • Grange bell tent (no pets)

    Well decorated tent
Nice to have a bed and kitchen equipment and table and benches to use
    Mostly quiet
The children loved to climb the tree and made new friends

    Disliked:

Unfortunately we decided to leave our bell tent a day early as it was just too cold. A 4.5 tog duvet for the double bed and very thin sleeping bags for children is just not enough for sleeping outside in the UK - even in August! We were told we did not need to bring our own bedding.

The toilets were cleaned but the toilet roll and the paper towels were not replenished in the 4 days we were there. We took our own toilet roll to use when it ran out. There was no water in the toilet next to the purple bell tent.

The tent was pretty but one set of fairy lights did not work and the candles were not replaced (we brought and replaced these as we wanted to use the lovely feature in the middle of the room).

Considering how much more is paid for a bell tent, it would be better to have the water source placed closer to these. Perhaps each tent could have its own portaloo? This would be better for current times as well.

We could have asked for all the above to be fixed but we should not have to keep bothering the owners to get the basics sorted.

From the manager...

I was a little sad to read your review.
As I was completely unaware of any of the complaints you have raised on you review I was unable to rectify anything to make your stay better.

I did say in an email what the bedding supplied was & that if you felt the cold advised you bring extra blankets. If you had forgotten your extra bedding then had you requested we would happily of supplied extra.
This is the 1st time anyone has said they were too cold and I’m not sure I can be held responsible for the fact the weather wasn’t as great as it has been in weeks past.
As most guests like to use the fire pit available this might been a good way to warm up but you didn’t request logs.

If the solar fairy lights had stopped working I would of replaced had I known, same goes for the candles etc…
I wouldn’t of deemed this bothering me just part of the service.

As for your comments about the water supply & each tent having it’s own & own loo I would like to remind you we are only a pop up site & at the time of your stay only 4 other families were on site & I’m sure anyone would think that 4 loos would be ample for this. I personally clean the loos daily & at no point was there no loo roll in any of the loos.

I’m sure you read the reviews left before booking & you will see that we go out of our way to make everyone’s stay as pleasant as possible & I’m sorry you didn’t let us do that for you.
