Facilities were amazing and very well cleaned, showers were very warm after 30 seconds along with being high pressure which was great after a long hike. Area where we camped was relatively flat however some tents depending on availability in the area may be at a slight slope. The cost for amount of time we were there was brilliant as we were able to get 25 pounds per person for 2 nights which seemed like a great deal for our group size.

This site has superb views and a rustic feel with lovely facilities. The showers a hot and well maintained as are the toilets. The wash up area was a little dark but later in the evening the automatic lights came on and we're good.

I woke in the morning to a peacock wandering around my pitch, which added to the charm.

Lack of temp control on showers

It was quiet with beautiful views and great facilities. It was lovely having sheep and guinea fowl roaming around the site, who were completely unbothered by our small dog - all very charming! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Location is rural, pretty and easy to find. 30 minute walk to amenities in the town of Ivybridge, following the same lane all the way there. The ground was easy to get tent pegs into because it wasn't dense with rocks like a lot of other land around Dartmoor. There is a lot of wildlife and farm animals around. The staff were friendly and helpful over the phone.

The campsite is on a hill - not the best for pitching a tent. It becomes flatter towards the top of the hill. I arrived just before the deadline for checking in and the campsite was unstaffed. You have to call one of three phone numbers that are on a signpost when you arrive. I didn't see any staff before I left in the morning either. There is an area for washing dishes with a few sinks and taps, but at least one of the taps didn't work. I couldn't see any signs for drinking water, so I trusted that the water in the dishwashing area was safe to drink and filled my bottle with that. At first the cold water tap ran lukewarm for a while. Some of the gentlemen's toilet cubicles had no toilet paper, and there was no paper to dry your hands with in the dispenser next to the sink. The shower block is the worst thing about the site. The showers are essentially in a shed, and the plastic roofing was destroyed, so that the floor of all the shower cubicles was covered in sharp shards of plastic and chunks of moss from the roof. The block is only separated from the outdoors by a plastic shower curtain, so muck from outdoors blew in and it was very cold. I didn't bother taking a shower even though I wanted to. Guinea fowl roamed on the campsite right outside my tent and their squawking sounded like a rusty nut and bolt being twisted together, which kept me awake.
