This is the most expensive camp site we have stayed on in a long while thinking it would be well worth the money with the wifi around the camp site that is advertised and the shower/toilet facilities along with electrical hookup.
We arrived about an hour earlier than we could check in as we didnt receive the welcome pack until about 8 hours after we arrived.
To be told they were just cutting the grass on our pitch so we sat in the car park for about 45 minutes watching them cut the grass on the top field around the other campers, we were then put onto the football field that has a sign saying no dogs allowed on the pitch but we had booked with a dog...
We have been placed seperate from all the other campers right next to the road, which has traffic up and down it all hours of the day and night so was less than ideal with road noise all the time.
I am away with 4 young children so wanted somewhere with facilities, the facilities are very lacking with 3 shower blocks where you cannot control the temperature of the water its either freezing cold or scolding hot which is difficult when washing young children.
There is a single cubicle toilet for the entire camp site which is supposed to cater for up to 50 pitches up to 6 people so potentially 300 guests at once...
There was only us and about 15 others on the camp site during our stay and multiple times we had to wait 15 minutes or more to be able to access a toilet...
There are 2 wifi networks for the premise that have full signal in the field but when we asked for the password we were told they are not for our use we are to use the public bt wifi that is only available when stood directly below the club house which has been closed the entire time we have been in the camp site.
With 4 young children we booked this site specifically for the wifi and facilities and being away from the road side to avoid the traffic noise.
We are extremely dissapointed with the camping here its one of the most expensive pitches we have ever stayed at, when booking i thought id booked for 3 nights to find out mid way through setting up that it was only 2 days (my fault for not double checking), but when it was listed at from £22.50 per night we didnt question the £80 price tag for 3 nights at checkout.
So it was basically £40/night to be in a field next to a roadside with 1 toilet that we had to que for and no wifi....
I would compare it to being roadside in a layby in terms of quality of sleep and wish we had just stayed on the roadside on our travels and saved the £80 pitch fee.
The camp site charges per child that is in the caravan not sure how it effects them when there is more children in a caravan...
There was charges to be added for everything you did including a small awning, wind breakers, side tents or anything you wanted to do within your pitch (which we refused to pay for when booking).
The showers didnt have locks on most of the doors meaning people could walk in on you during your shower.
Overall it was a very low quality camp site for a ridiculously high price.
