Really enjoyed our stay in the Bell Tent - will camping ever be the same again! Nice to have your own camp kitchen and WC; site showers were spacious and there was also an indoor washing up sink. The bed in the tent was made up with super cosy fleece bed linen, and a couple of extra blankets were supplied as well as an electric fire in case of cooler evenings. There was also a small table and 2 wicker chairs inside, which was a good place to sit if it was wet. Fortunately it only rained overnight on the final night, and the tent stayed dry inside despite the fairly heavy rain. The site as a whole was really nice - right beside the beck and quite small so nice and quiet. Caldbeck is a lovely village with a decent pub, garage/shop and a couple of other shops to browse in too. Local walks along the beck as well as easy access to the Northern Lakes. Would definitely book again (even in a normal tent!)

Quiet, laid back campsite in beautiful location next to a stream with good facilities. We stayed overnight to break up a trip to Scotland and have booked again for our return journey.

Great wee campsite, quiet and clean facilities. But what makes it great are the owners, who couldn't have been more helpful when my husband had an accident and ended up in hospital. They looked after my dog overnight so I could go with him and collected me from the hospital the following day, they really couldn't have done more. Thankyou so much Ewan and Val!

Lovely place to relax , ofcourse the weather was like Tenerife so that helped to .

Only a small gripe but because it was so hot there wasn't much shade but at least you could have a shower to cool down .

I had pitch number 2 which is one of the electric hookup pitches. I was surprised when I was booking as the price was extremely reasonable. The pitch I had was large enough enough to hold a fairly decent sized tent (my little 2 man tent was drowned in it), and my car, also comes complete with a picnic bench and fire pit drum for you (the local shop sells firewood if you don't have any).
It's only a small site which is perfect for a quiet get away. if you hate the sound of nature (birds, sheep and a river) then this is not the place for you.
There is a well kept toilet and shower block. There are two showers which are separate little rooms. Large enough with a bench to sit on, and hooks for your clothes. Bath matt supplied for when you exit the shower. Pressure of the water does the trick.
There is a separate hut that has sink with hot water to wash your dirty pots in and if you don't have electric hook up but need to charge your phone then they have a solar powered charging point.
in the village there is a shop, a pub and a couple of cafes. All within walking distance.
There are walks around the campsite (the Cumbrian way passes through) or there are quite a few even within 30 minutes drive. I went and climbed Blencathra (thoroughly recommend this).

What a fabulous find! This is probably the best campsite I’ve stayed at.
The pitches are large, each with its own fire pit and picnic table.
The showers, toilet and washing up facilities are adequate and cleaned regularly. There is a combination code for the toilet and showers for paying guests as this is on the Cumbrian Way with plenty of passers by wanting to uses the facilities.

The site is next to the beck with the sound of the water flowing by, the other side is a farmers field with sheep! We spotted lots of wildlife during our stay which was wonderful.

There are plenty of local walks, our favourite was past the Bobbin Mill and the Howk!

The nearest supermarket is in Wigton but the village shop has good stock!

The owner was helpful and popped by regularly to check everyone was ok.

We cannot wait to revisit this site and the area! Easy to get to the lakes and places of interest
