  • Farm site in open countryside in the hills above the Amalfi coast
  • Half an hour's drive from Amalfi and Ravello, an hour from Naples
  • Vineyard tours, wine tasting and cooking classes available on site
Like wine? Stay on a vineyard. This one makes a fine vintage, with added views of the Lattari mountains and the Amalfi coast. Agricampeggio Mare e Monti is a working farm, specialising in turning southern Italy's sunshine, rich Campania soils and mountain breezes into fat crops of grapes, walnuts and vegetables. You can sample all that fine produce in the dining room or sign up for cooking classes on site (for an extra charge)… either way, your meals are likely to be rather tasty. And the wine? You can learn more about that by joining one of the free organised tours around the centuries-old vineyards, and/or sort a wine tasting session to sample the site's DOC Basileo wine (there's an extra charge for this but it's worth the small investment). This small and simple site is only a five-minute drive from shops, bars and restaurants in the hilltop town of Tramonti and 15 minutes from the beach at Maiori for sea dips, boat trips and tanning on the sands. Ancient monuments or nature walks? Museums or people watching? Beaches or mountains? If you’re struggling to make a decision on this diversely entertaining stretch of Italy’s coastline, maybe make for the Torre dello Ziro, half an hour away outside Amalfi. You’ll have cracking views of the area from the top of this old watchtower and if you still can’t decide where to go next, well, there’s a beach just below you…

FHU grass and earth RV campsite

FHU grass and earth RV campsite

Liked: Superschön gelegen, kleiner Platz, netter, hilfsbereiten Gastgeber.

FHU grass and earth RV campsite

Liked: Position.Friendly and accomadating owners and Mama's excellent cooking with local produce and items from the garden. Also the excellent wine.

Disliked: Toilet and shower facility. Only one wc and shower in the same room which had to be shared by more than 10 people male or female which is a real missed opportunity in todays competitive climate and people's needs. This was a common complaint amongst the people on site but did not wish to offend the owners by telling them.

FHU grass and earth RV campsite

Liked: close to maiori. The Hosts were outstanding, treated us just as if we were family. We ate meals 2 of 3 nights that we stayed. 5 star meals.Mamas cooking , out of this world!!Aurelio and papa were tremendous and went out of their way for us.It was a great advantage to be shuttled to and from Maiori.Great wine as well. We were in Italy for 25 days and this was the highlight.

Disliked: Driving in is a bit difficult, no different than anywhere in Amalphi. Which makes the shuttle service that much more valuable.

Powered grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Wonderful views, tranquility, kindness and welcome from the family (including cat and dog), lovely supper and wine. There is a bus service to and along the coast to avoid taking the car in this mayhem. A beautiful haven from the coast.

Disliked: Just a bit worried that one toilet and shower combined may cause problems in the high season.

Powered grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Alfredo and his family were extremely welcoming, kind and helpful. They have a beautiful vineyard and farm and it was an absolute dream to camp amongst the vines. The red wine they make naturally was some of the best we’ve ever had, and they served us two wonderful four course dinners (only €30pp) with all fresh produce from the farm and local surroundings. The facilities are all that we needed and we were given excellent recommendations for exploring the amalfi coast and Pompeii. Very very happy with our stay and we will certainly endeavour to return some day !!! Thank you so much Alfredo & family 🥰

Disliked: Absolutely nothing!

Local attractions

Take a wander round the white buildings of Amalfi, dipping into the cool spaces of the ninth-century cathedral in the heat of the day, or catch a boat from the harbour over to Salerno, Positano and Capri, or to the blue caverns of the Grotto dello Smeraldo, all spots as memorable for the journeys as the end destinations. For another perspective on the famed coast, make for hilltop Ravello, also half an hour away, and the terraced tropical gardens of the Villa Rufolo, home of popes and kings. For a break from the coast, you could try the Footpath of the Gods, a modestly named stretch of the Lattari mountains starting out in Bomerano, an hour and 10 minutes away, where old mule tracks meander along ridges past woodlands and locals carrying harvests on their backs as if the Romans never left. Roman life in all its daily detail and tragedy is laid out for the crowds at Pompeii, an hour away; afterwards, take a trip up to see the crater of the volcanic culprit Vesuvius, then soak up civilisation, street food and culture in Naples, also an hour away. Don't miss out on Pompeiian frescoes in the archaeological museum, precious Caravaggios in the Palazzo Reale di Capodimonti, and indisputably the best pizza in the world.
