- Family-friendly campsite two kilometres from Lac d'Annecy
- At the southern edge of the lake in the small village of Lathuile
- Restaurant, bar, table tennis, playground and on-site barbecues
If you’re after the gorgeous mountain views that come with a quiet alpine stay but don’t want to stray too far from the convenience of having amenities close by, you may well find that Camping Le Verger Fleuri has just the mix for you.
This family-friendly Haute-Savoie site is just on the edge of the village of Lathuile and a couple of kilometres from Doussard, so between the two you should be sorted for shops, restaurants and other handy bits and bobs when you need them. And yet on site, it’s all greenery, lots of space and some splendid views thanks to the setting at the foot of the Bauges Mountains – the sort of setting that might make you think you’re rather more remote than you are.
There’s easy direct access to footpaths and cycle trails from this site, so getting out and about to explore more of the scenery should be straightforward enough. There’s lots to see and do, but one thing not to miss is the huge Lac d’Annecy: the southern shores of France’s third-largest lake are a mere two kilometres away.
For a bit of leisure time back at base, there's a table tennis table (balls are available at reception), a playground, a bouncy castle, an outdoor fitness space and on-site barbecues that you're free to use. Meals are served at Camping Le Verger Fleuri's restaurant, and there’s a bar round the corner for snacks or cocktails. Fresh bread is delivered from a local bakery in July and August.

To Lac d’Annecy first – a five-minute drive (or 10-minute bike ride) will get you up to the southern shoreline for strolls in the nature reserve or dips in the water at the beach area. Elsewhere along the shores are the island-based Château de Duingt (10 minutes’ drive), the watersports of Criq’Parc (20 minutes) and the spectacular Golf du Lac d’Annecy (20 minutes).
Make it all the way up to the top of the lake and you’ll get to Annecy (25 minutes) to visit the canals and cobbled streets of the old town, wander in waterfront gardens and fill up on fresh fish or tartiflette at the restaurants.
Want to take a different view? There’s a paragliding school a few minutes’ walk from the site, and the ski stations of La Sambuy (25 minutes) and Semnoz (45 minutes) are open in summer for mountain-top walks, luge rides, karting and via ferrata climbing trips. If that all sounds a bit too active, aim instead for the soothing thermal baths of Aix-les-Bains (55 minutes).
