Fably ancient Nantes, once the capital of ancient Brittany (and felt by many still to be its true capital) is an excellent option for a few day trips, to its famed Château des Ducs de Bretagne with the city's history museum; the Cathedral of St Peter and St Paul; the medieval Bouffay district and the museum of Jules Verne. (If your tastes are more modern, stroll among the swish boutiques of the nineteenth century Passage Pommeraye.)
The Camping La Pindière team insists that the city's Jardin des Plantes de Nantes is also a must, the botanical gardens and tropical greenhouses spread over seven hectares and covering three centuries of botany built up by sailors bringing seeds from all over the globe.
Animal fans have much to keep them entertained in the region too, such as the underwater tunnel at the huge aquarium Océarium in Croisic, the Planète Sauvage animal park in Port-Saint-Père, La Boissière du Doré zoo and the Sealand Aquarium in Noirmoutier.

Dear Mr and Mrs Maher,
I am very sorry that you didn't enjoy your experience on our site.
You arrived at 5.00 PM and someone was there to welcome you. Not me as I took this one afternoon off for a family event after several months of working non-stop, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. So Alexandra was there and her English is not perfect but she does understand it and manages to make herself understood. And you were in France btw so you can't expect everybody to master your mother tongue everywhere on the globe I guess.
The bar and the restaurant were closed but the supermarket is just 500 meters away and there are at least 2 pizza places and a kebab place within walking distance from the campsite!
The swimming pool is open until 7.00 PM, as written on the sign on the pool's door. Your children decided to play table tennis first and headed to the pool afterwards. It is true that when I am here and I see people in the pool, I usually close it later. But my employee was supposed to finish work at 7.00 and then go back to her home and family. So she called me to ask me what she was supposed to do and I told her to close the pool at 7.00 PM as planned and written on the sign.
We are a small campsite and we do our best to keep our campers satisfied and I am very sorry that you were not happy, even though I find you're being a bit quick to judge, given that you only stayed a bit over 12 hours here. I am sure that you will have a more positive experience next time you come, as most campers usually have.
Kind regards,
Anne
