General
- Small site on a vineyard 20 minutes' drive from Pembroke
- Sandy beaches around 20 minutes away in Tenby and Saundersfoot
- Coffee shop, restaurant and shop with wines and other local products
A vineyard visit poses a perennial problem: who’s going to be tasked with driving home? Come along to Cwm Deri Vineyard for the best answer of all: bag a berth here and no one need get behind the wheel – huzzah.
Pembrokeshire may not seem an obvious spot for a winemaking business, but this place 20 minutes north of Pembroke has been growing grapes and other fruit successfully since the early 90s, and now produces a tempting range of wines, mead and liqueurs, all of which you can sample on site before stocking up on your faves at the shop. A walking trail wends its way through the vines and surrounding woods so you can build up an appetite to take over to the restaurant for lunch or the coffee shop for afternoon tea (followed by a short stroll back to your digs for a snooze…).
Taking a break from the wine for a while (probably a good idea now and then), this is an excellent spot to reach the walks, beaches and castles that Pembrokeshire’s famed for. Get as sandy and muddy as you like, safe in the knowledge that back on site is a toasty heated bathroom with hot showers (possibly followed by a glass of something…).
If you're looking for a grownup getaway, the grass touring caravan pitches on site are reserved for adults only; kids are welcome on the hardstanding pitches and tent areas and in the glamping units. A gate separates adults-only and family areas, but the facilities are shared between both. Dogs are also welcome on site as long as they're kept on leads.

Local attractions
You’ve got to catch a castle or few if you come to these parts – Pembrokeshire’s dotted with fine examples. With a drive of 20 minutes or so you can take in the ruins of Carew Castle (often handsomely reflected in the neighbouring mill pond), stroll around seaside Manorbier Castle or head to Pembroke to see the fortress where Henry VII was born.
And you’ve probably got to take in a beach or few too: top picks include the traditional resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot (20 minutes’ drive), the surfers’ fave Freshwater West (half an hour) and the utterly gorgeous Barafundle Bay, often tipped as one of the world’s best (half an hour).
For animals a bit bigger than the site’s rabbits, take a trip to Manor Wildlife Park (15 minutes) or the Secret Owl Garden (15 minutes, and signposted rather than secret). Birdwatching boat trips to Skomer from Dale and dolphin-spotting safaris from St Davids are both about 45 minutes away.
