Ryelands Holiday Park: Glamping in a five-metre bell tent

General

  • Quiet and roomy site on a hill above the village of Kilgetty
  • Overlooking the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park
  • Set on 10 acres of mature and well-kept grounds

Spectacular Welsh countryside scenery is viewable from all around Ryelands Holiday Park in south Wales, for it sits high on a hill above the comely town of Kilgetty and overlooks the lush landscape of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Beaches? Scenic Saundersfoot is but a couple of miles away.

Space galore is all around the site: it's set in 10 acres of mature and well-kept grounds in which to lounge, laze or kick a ball about. (A small play area is also to hand for the kids.) The amenities block, cleaned every day, has free hot water to three showers and four sinks, as well as plenty of toilets for both ladies and gents. A big dishwashing sink is at the front of the building.

Supplies and suppers can be picked up at Kilgetty village less than half a mile away, which has takeaways and a fish and chip shop, a pub, a well-stocked supermarket and a post office. Trains and buses are in town too for exploring along the Pembrokeshire coast and further afield.

The view was beautiful and a short distance away from Folly farm, Saundersfoot and Tenby. Camp site was clean and quiet and the facilities were were well maintained (showers and toilets). Staff were friendly and provided us with fire pit and wood at a small cost to have our own camp fire which was great to toast our marshmallows on 😋

Toilets/showers not good. I managed to take a chunk out of my finger on toilet cubicle as they had sharpe edges. Materials used where coming apart and wet patch on floor wasn't cleared up. Only 1 wall hand dryer not very powerful. Lots of rubbish next to bins and toilets need cleaning up. Bungalow at gate had smashed glass qnd 3 cars just left to rot. Shame if these issues where sorted it could be a really nice site.

The sands and sea of handsome seaside town Saundersfoot are a couple of miles away.

Slightly further afield are more family days at Heatherton World of Activities six miles away, and the beaches of Tenby a mile further along the coast.
