The good folk at Bluebell Lane Glamping know what's what. Camping in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Very big tick. And without pitching your own tent? Very big tick indeed, and how much more time to spend on site taking in the spectacular views: you may have heard before that Ireland has quite the spectacular scenery...

The stellar views from this peaceful green glampsite include the Ring of Gullion, the ring dike on Slieve Gullion that makes up part of the Ring of Gullion Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty stretching across south Armagh and the border with the Republic of Ireland. Trot along to the Slieve Gullion Forest Park or the Giant's Lair to find out more about this part of Ireland's ancient sites, or use Bluebell Lane as a base for Slieve Gullion hill walking, mountain driving and soaking up yet more splendid scenery around the nearby Mourne mountains, Rostrevor Forest and Carlingford Lough.

Bluebell Lane is just outside the south Armagh village of Mullaghbawn, close to the Irish border and 20 minutes' drive from Newry. Its modern amenities include toilets and showers, a washing-up area, a launderette and chemical disposal. Barbecues and campfires are allowed.

A play area is also on site.

    All aspects- communal Kitchen/Toilet/Shower Facilities were excellent. The location overall was beautiful with the various options for camping also to a very high standard. A clean, quiet campsite where everything is new, playpark, pond/walks etc all brilliant for children.

    The camp owners were very friendly and helpful, stopped to talk to our children- told historic stories on the surrounding area which added to their stay.

    Owners also offer bush craft skills courses and walks etc, could not recommend this site any better, we will come here again.

    -The area was fantastic, incredibly scenic and exactly what we wanted for our New Years retreat.
    -Facilities were second to none, clean and very homely.
    -A very friendly owner, who did nothing but help us and make our stay enjoyable and relaxed. Really loved chatting to Padraig over a cup of tea, by the fireplace.

    Would definitely return in the future!!

Local attractions

The famed Ring of Gullion, the first ring dike in the world to be geologically mapped, sits atop famed Slieve Gullion, the highest peak in County Armagh. Clamber up here if you can: Sleive Gullion's two ancient burial cairns include the highest passage grave still surviving in Ireland, and from the peak you can see as far as Dublin Bay and Wicklow on a clear day. (If you care not for clambering, an eight-mile marked drive brings you to the cairns – and lake – on the surface.)

The mountain's also a top spot for hiking and cycling, with trails ranging from teeny mile-long woodland paths to the 36-mile Ring of Gullion Way. If you're more of a canterer, a horse riding centre is a couple of minutes' stroll from Bluebell Lane in Mullaghbane, while anglers can cast off at the Ring of Gullion's biggest lake Camlough (10 minutes' drive), to land pike, perch, bream and roach. And if you're here with kids who say pah to all that, Slieve Gullion's Giant’s Lair and Adventure Playpark is within 15 minutes' drive.

You're niftily placed for city shopping and sightseeing from here too: Newry is the closest city at 20 minutes' drive away, but it's well worth making the hour's drive to Belfast for the Ulster Museum, Crumlin Road Gaol, the botanic gardens and a look at Queen's University... before a pint or two in one of Belfast's famed pubs.

Safety
Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.

Changes to your holiday
Bookings cannot be amended within 2 day(s) of arrival.

Vehicles
Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Dogs
Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.

General
Quiet hours must be respected between 11 p.m. and 8:30 a.m..

Occupancy
Single-sex bookings of 5 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

Vehicles
The car is only included in the rate if you are travelling with a camper, trailer tent or tent. If you wish to bring a car along with your motorhome/RV, please select the extra.

General
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behavior is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.

Occupancy
The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Dogs
The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

Vehicles
Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Sites
Units should not be left unoccupied unless previously agreed with the management. Please speak to reception when the need arises, a fee may be charged for unsupervised units.

Arrivals and departures
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Visitors
Visitors must leave the premises by 6 p.m..
Visitors must register at reception and pay their fee.
