General
- Next to a family-oriented pub in Lydford-on-Fosse
- Convenient for visiting Glastonbury, Bath and the Wookey Hole Caves
- Pub serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, and hosting live music
A pub – with beer garden – in Somerset: how smashing. And even more splendidly, friendly and quiet The Cross Keys Inn is about 10 miles from Glastonbury if you're in the south west to see the Tor or get muddied up at the fest... and it's niftily set too for other top highlights like Wells and the Wookey Hole Caves, both under 10 miles away, and Bath around 25 miles away.
The pub is in the Somerset village of Lydford-on-Fosse, between Yeovil and Glastonbury. It has two bars, an open fire and wifi, and serves breakfasts, lunches and dinners as well as real ales. Live music events are occasionally hosted in the Cross Keys function room, which opens out onto the beer garden. (The pitches are a short distance from the pub so although there may be more noise than usual during these times, staff are more than happy to allocate a quieter pitch for you during events if you request it.)
Facilities in the field include drinking water, a chemical disposal point, a recycling area, toilets and showers.
When you're off to explore the many tiptop highlights of Somerset and the south-west, the A303 is a quick three-minute drive away.

Local attractions
It's under 10 miles to some excellent and famed Somerset destinations, including Glastonbury Tor and Abbey (six miles), the teeny city of Wells (eight miles) and the fably spooky Wookey Hole Caves (nine miles).
You'll also be a speedy five miles from the huge collection of military and civilian craft at Ilchester's Fleet Air Arm Museum, which houses the biggest naval aviation collection of helicopters and fixed wing aircraft in Europe, and nine from the 400 or so cars and motorbikes at Sparkford's Haynes International Motor Museum. This latter takes family fun most seriously, and lays on a range of activities for the under-fours, ages four to 12, and teens.
The Royal Bath and West Showground is seven miles away at Shepton Mallet: head here for events and shows, flea markets and the famed Royal Bath & West Show, highlighting the best of British farming, culture and produce. Toddle along to it if you're around in late May/early June, to see the British Cider Championships and the British Cheese Awards, and sample as much produce as poss from 125 food producers.
And then there's Bath, the famed and handsome city that's one of only three in Britain to have UNESCO World Heritage status (Liverpool and Edinburgh are the others, but of course you knew that…). Drive the 25 or so miles to here for sights such as The Roman Baths complex, Bath Abbey and the Jane Austen Centre.
