West Down Views Campsite is a family-friendly site in the middle of dreamy Dorset countryside. It’s just a 15-minute drive to the beach at Weymouth, and a break here puts you close to historic spots like local author Thomas Hardy’s cottage as well as the bizarre rock formations along the spectacular Jurassic Coast.
Along with the gorgeous views of Dorset hills, guests have access to well-maintained flushing loos, hot showers and a washing-up area. As this is a dark site, it’s a good idea to bring a torch for wandering around at night.
You can jump on the South West Coast Path in Ringstead, five minutes’ drive away, and there are golf courses, riding schools and fishing lakes within 15 minutes. Pootle around those winding Dorset lanes and sooner or later you’ll come across traditional beamed and thatched pubs serving local cider and delicious seafood.
If you’d rather fend for yourselves food-wise back at base, head to the supermarkets in Weymouth for barbecue bits and bobs. There’s also oodles for kids to do there – mini golf, animal encounters at SEA LIFE Centre Weymouth, and bumper cars at Fantasy Island will keep them happily entertained all day.

The park caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.
Guests are advised to bring a good quality flashlight with them as parts of the park are unlit.
Dogs are not allowed in the on-site accommodations.
The park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Breed-specific legislation (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).
No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
Single-sex bookings of -3 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

No refunds within 4 weeks of arrival date.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please give as much notice as possible so that someone else has the chance to book. You may wish to buy holiday insurance for cancelations and for your property/injury whilst away.
