Crazy golf

General

  • On the Lizard Peninsula with a huge range of family facilities
  • Indoor and outdoor heated pools; pirate-themed crazy golf; soft play
  • Activities including evening entertainment, family films, kids' clubs

Smugglers’ coves, gorgeous beaches, fishing ports and colourful market towns await you at this park on the Lizard Peninsula.

Lizard Point Holiday Park (formerly known as Mullion Holiday Park) is a firmly family-friendly site, so there's a great selection of facilities, including heated outdoor (open from May to mid-September) and indoor pools (where visitors can also book in for PADI diving lessons), a plethora of sporting activities, modern bars and restaurants, and all-singing, all-dancing action in the entertainment club.

The littlies will have a ball in the pools (and slides, chutes and tunnels) of the Crazy Caves soft play area, and the pirate-themed crazy golf course and outdoor adventure playground should provide gallons of giggles too.

A kids' library, family film screenings and the assortment of goings on at the various kids’ clubs means there’s plenty to keep them occupied whatever the weather (although the Lizard is the most southerly point in the UK, so if it’s going to turn out nice anywhere, it should be here).

Stayed only for one night as we were travelling around but decided to stay for 2. Unfortunately the reception was closed but we booked another night with pitchup, went to reception in the morning and told them I rebooked and she said we could stay on the same pitch.
Other campers whether in tents or caravans or trailer tents or campervans are all lovely.

The attitude this site took , i cancelled my booking the day after they took payment unfortunatly. My husband got diagnosed with cancer and was in hospital having major surgery on the day before they took payment , so understandably my mind was not thinking of our upcoming holiday. They would not issue a refund and told me i needed to give proof of my husband having cancer , which for a £47 refund i thought was discusting . They then offered a stay with them within a time limit as a good will gesture, my husband wont be taking any holidays within the time they offered . Then they actually said sorry we got that wrong you wont be getting anything . Not a site i would be recomeding to my family or friends . Very disapointing .

On site entertainment facilities were very good, good restaurant food and helpful staff. Very fairly priced pitches. Clean toilet block.

    Disliked:

Shower pressure in toilet block wasn't great, took my wife an extremely long time to wash shampoo and conditioner out of her hair. Our pitch (No. 30) was quite sloped which caused havoc with the wind getting under the awning and lifting the heavy duty pegs put in an angles.

Local attractions

The scenery around the park is stunning – not for nothing has the Lizard been given an official stamp as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – which makes for some spectacular clifftop walks. It's not far from Land's End or the rather lovely St Michael’s Mount either.

The local Blue Flag beaches offer a good range of watersports, including kitesurfing and sea kayaking. Serious thrill seekers should check out the adventure centre at Lusty Glaze beach, where they can test their mettle with water, land and cliff activities.

Many of Cornwall’s top family attractions are found nearby: potter among the plant life under the giant domes of the Eden Project, or head to Newquay Zoo or the National Seal Sanctuary in the Helford Estuary for some close encounters of the animal kind. There are a couple of good theme parks, too: the Flambards Experience and the Crealy Great Adventure Park.

If you’d like to uncover a bit more of the heritage of this Cornish corner, pay a visit to Poldark, an 18th-century tin mine, or the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth.

Must see

  • National Seal Sanctuary (8.3 kilometers)
