Pitches where too small and not connected to the road. So the grass in front of the van was water logged. Very basic facilities that didn’t work well and the toilets didn’t flush at all to clear waste. The pitches and the land was wet through. So very poor drainage. Other people that I talked to was also very upset with the poor quality of the layout. When we arrived they had no reception. So rung the number on the email. Told to just go onto pitch 22. So no welcome or thanks for my business. Really poor experience. Trying to run before walking with regards to the layout of pitches and drainage.

lovely new site, clean toilets pitches quite big, shame about the British weather as it became quite boggy but didn't stop us enjoying a ready peaceful weekend. will be booking again for next year

The new toilet block is fab and really clean

Hard standing pich flooded and the waste toilet disposal was blocked. The whole point of a hard standing pitch is so tou dont have to walk on grass or mud and bring it into your caravan or motorhome. I would suggest making paths to go from the hard standing to the roadway or extending the hard standing pitches so there is no grqss or mud to walk on to get to your pitch.

Great location, spacious and well laid out. First class facilities and spotlessly clean. Just the right distance from town but plenty close enough to walk in. Great ethics in trying to reduce the impact of motorhoming/camping on the local environment.

Just a few notes for possible improvements (none of them would put us off another visit).
1. Having got our motorhome bogged down on a wet French site last year, I would echo the thoughts of some other reviewers. The hardstandings need to be connected to the roadways. 3.5 tonnes on 2 drive wheels can make quite a mess!
2. Wash basins with no way to retain water have no purpose.
3. Showers need water temperature control.
4. Couldn't find grey water dump. (was it the hardstanding with new shrubs around it near to the chemical disposal, possible soakaway?)

Lovely new site peaceful easy access for walks the toilet /shower block lovely and very clean will definitely be back next year to see how the site has matured

Well-planned new site with level grass pitches. Welcoming & helpful owner. Lovely clean new facilities, eco-friendly, close proximity to Hornsea Mere, walking distance to town (Tesco close by) and great place to cycle (access to Transpennine Trail from campsite).
Staying in October, we saw and heard the hundreds of pink-footed geese flying in from Iceland/Greenland to over winter - amazing experience!!
