With an olive branch being a sign of peace, it’s rather fitting that Olive Tree Caravan and Camping Park is a mighty peaceful place for a quiet country break...
There'll be no noisy nippers at this adults-only Nottinghamshire site, so the grownups have the run of the place (although canine pals are welcome to join as long as they promise to behave themselves). Once settled into your spacious pitch, feel free to plan activities that small sorts might turn their noses up at: fishing, historic building visits, spa days and miles and miles of fab walks (along the Chesterfield Canal, around Clumber Park or through famed Sherwood Forest – whatever takes your fancy).
However you opt to fill your days, it’s surely always a welcome sight to see a country pub awaiting at the end of it: that role is played here by your temporary local, serving up meals and real ale by the canal 10 minutes’ walk away in the village of Clarborough. Should the weather decree it possible, you’re welcome to fire up a barbecue on site instead; for supplies, browse the selection of essentials at the site shop or take the 10-minute drive to the supermarkets in Retford.
A slew of security measures around the site means that guests can sleep easy, and all are assured of a nice toasty shower here too, as the smart modern bathroom block has heating and accessible facilities.

Group bookings of 3 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).
Continental touring caravans (caravans built with the door on the right-hand side) are not permitted.
No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.
The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).
Bookings must not be for more than 6 consecutive nights.
For electric pitches, the price only includes £1 electric token per night. Additional tokens can be purchased at reception.
Please be aware that some pitches may be on an incline.

Have a chat with the folk on site for details of choice spots along the Chesterfield Canal, or head to Hayton Lakes (less than five minutes’ drive) to try your luck with the carp, barbel and bream in its seven lakes. More interested in getting into the water? Sort yourself with a spa day at Ye Olde Bell 10 minutes’ drive away for thermal baths and treatments.
Walkers have a wide choice of places to go for a ramble in this region – as well as waterside wanders by the Chesterfield Canal (a 10-minute walk away), you might like the trails of Clumber Park National Trust estate (20 minutes’ drive) or to view the remains of the 12th-century abbey in Rufford Park (half an hour). Sherwood Forest, once Robin Hood’s 450-acre stomping ground, is half an hour away.
Seeking something to stir up a bit more adrenaline? Take to the treetops for a high ropes course and zipline at Go Ape adventure park, or walk among the lions at Yorkshire Wildlife Park; both are around a half-hour drive away.

Olive Tree Caravan and Camping Park cancelation policy
No refunds within 30 days of arrival date.
Changes cannot be made once you have booked.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please give as much notice as possible so that someone else has the chance to book. You may wish to buy holiday insurance for cancelations and for your property/injury whilst away.
Please note that your deposit is paid to Pitchup.com and is non-refundable.
Payment
Deposit transferable during COVID-19. Olive Tree Caravan and Camping Park will debit the balance from your card 30 days before arrival, or if the arrival date is sooner than 30 days then the balance will be taken immediately.
Sites: a £10.00 ($17.24) deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure when returning the gate badge/barrier pass/toilet keys.
