Burrs Manor Campsite

Very big campsite with amazing views and fantastic facilities, owner was very nice and accomadating, there was a Morrisons nearby and domino's delivered to the campsite.

Was very cold and windy, would definitely come back in spring or summer.

Great facilities and great views and we had the whole top field to ourselves.

Nothing, everything was great

how lovely and friendly the site is and the people who own the site came up as it was raining and told us if we needed anything drying / washing or a spare dry tent we was able to borrow theres, toilets where clean and dry at all times and hot water was able to be used at all times, we also stayed in the summer time which is definitely best! campsite was full of lovely people and was things to do everywhere !!

We had the place to ourselves one rainy weekend in October. Great spot. Lots of walks nearby, and cute village of Chelmorton nearby with pub to dry out after ourrainy walk!
Hot shower was great too.

Really enjoyed my weekend at Burrs Manor Farm. The location was beautiful, the fact you had a choice of two fields was even better, my group of 6, 3 couples chose the top field and it was our favourite site so far.

Upon arrival, we rang the farm owner and she said she’d come to us, and to pitch anywhere we’d like. She dropped off a huge barrel for the fire, a huge plastic bin full of wood, and even lit it for us which was brilliant. The top field is far enough away from the farm house and bottom family field that noise from us is 0, which was brilliant for us.

The communal areas were clean, always filled with toilet roll and paper towels and hand soap, with Covid 19 measures in place (masks, 2 metre). And there was a water filling station, as well as a washing up area, that had washing up liquid and sponges already provided.

It’s a 20 minute walk to a hiking trail (more like a climb, such an amazing time climbing down!) and then within a 40 minute hike you reach the Monsal Trail. All in all, my stay was perfect. I had the best time! But it gets coldddd at night, so so cold. When it’s windy it’s a pain, but our second night was no wind so it was amazing. 10/10 experience and we’ll 100% be back. Dominos also delivers!

We ran out of wood early our second night, so we burned most of our cardboard, and then also collected branches to burn. In the end we gathered in my big tent instead.

Also, (this is nothing to do with the farm) but the local takeaways wouldn’t deliver to the farm, even though just eat said so, I rang all of them, and they said no. Thank god for dominos, they did.

We found the campsite very peaceful unlike some previous reviews that said it was rowdy. The bottom campsite had a portaloo whilst the top field had showers and toilets.
There is a lot of good walking from the site.
The Church Inn in Chelmorton does great food and is less than a mile away.
