Comfy, pettie site in beautiful location.25/08/2024

Really liked the sectioned off pitches with hedges. Simple check in via text ( not used that before ). Hot water for washing up in the camp site sink and good showers. Had a lovely walk along the banks of the Seven.

    Disliked:

If I’m being really fussy it Felt a bit like the door wasn’t locked on the toilet/ shower. At first I didn’t think there would be enough showers/ toilets but I didn’t have to wait at all.

The site was very nice and clean. I loved the fact there were bushes planted between every pitch to separate them so you got some privacy. The toilets and showers were good and kept clean. It was a very good base with reasonable travel distance to visit Bath, WWT Slimbridge, Puzzlewood and Clearwell Caves. The owners were very responsive and sorted the issues straight away.

    Disliked:

Some of the other campers weren't obeying the quiet times and flying drones into other tents. The owner turned up within minutes and sorted the issue.
When the campsite was full the waiting times for the toilets were a bit long for our young daughter but I guess that's same everywhere.
There was also no wifi and phone signal was terrible but I guess that's the sacrifice for a beautiful, remote location.

Great little family run camp site, very quiet and good access to some lovely walking routes. We travelled with young children and a dog, and it was perfect. There is a pub within walking distance what is a bit run down but worth a visit for a drink, they did not do food when we went on a Friday evening so calling to book a table is advised. There is a small village park within 5 minutes’ walk for the children and to top it off the owners of the camp site have opened an awesome little coffee house 2 minutes’ walk up the lane. Toilets and showers were adequate and all you need for a camp site. Overall a great few nights stay for us.

Friendly staff and nice small site

    Disliked:

The pitches are not pre allocated, we had pre booked a hard standing gravel pitch but when we arrived it had already been taken by someone who had booked a grass pitch.
The owner knew this the day before when the other family arrived but hadn’t moved them to where they should be.
We ended up having to go to the grass pitch. The grass area was swarming with flies and it hadn’t been cut so was quite long.
The pitch was very uneven, we were unable to put our steps to the caravan in a position so that they wouldn’t rock when stepping in and out which meant ideal when pregnant and with a 2 year old hence why we booked the hard standing.
To prevent this mistake happening again I think the owners should put pitch numbers on and pre allocate them maybe 24 hours in advance.
