The quiet atmosphere and local walks

Reception was not manned and the number given doesn't work so it was hard to work out what to do when we arrived.
Didn't seem to be a women's toilet.

A bit scruffy - it was February and felt like the site was in the middle of doing their winter maintenance.

Friendly and helpful manager, very peaceful woodland setting, lovely nearby walk to Lords Piece, Petworth House and Grounds (NT) nearby is well worth a visit.

Facilities basic for price - manager did explain these were under renovation during off season and would include separate toilet block and showers when done. We can only rate on what was there when we stayed, but I don’t think we saw this site at its best and lots of potential for the summer with these improvements.

Two weekends ago, my friend and I camped for a night at this site. For a winter wild camping break, this was perfect. Gorgeous location with some really beautiful natural trails to ramble nearby. For the price, the facilities were top-notch.
And, to our luck, when the clouds cleared, the night sky was totally clear and revealed the fullest of moons!
The owners were lovely - as we had hiked to the camp on foot, they gave us a lift to the nearest pub and back. Really such a wonderful thing for them to do. Thank you!

Beautiful and remote site. The surroundings are lovely, the trees are beautiful and the sky was amazing! Quiet and peaceful, perfect chill in the air as it was January. Everyone is attentive, friendly, welcoming, helpful and kind. They go above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Beautiful surroundings, idyllic to be fair. Clean pitch areas, plenty of refuse and recycling bins. Quiet, so very quiet to the point of perfection. A perfect place to regenerate the soul and restore energy levels.

There is nothing we disliked

The location was good, lovely scenery, very quiet. The owner was friendly and extremely helpful. We had an electric hookup and there was a toilet on-site.

We booked to stay for new years eve , the rain was pouring but it didn't dampen our spirits, we turned up to no reception but could reach the manger on the phone, he was sincerely apologetic that he wasn't there to meet us but they told us our plot number and left us to it, had a quite night stay with only one other camper on the site, from previous reviews I've read from previous years, I think the site is now trying to specialise in catering for campervans and Caravan by installing extra power points , the toilet is the only facility I used which seemed to be clean. all on all I would return
