Hi All, Well, not sure what I expected really and what we got was FANTASTIC. Here's my honest review:
1). Size of campsite... massive really and the way it's laid out is fantastic. You have all the eslectric hard pitches and grass pictures spread over two sections... and then you have two MASSIVE fields with no electric hook up BUT great amount of space.
2). Reception - Awesome, loads of food, bits and bobs, ice creams etc. PLus really welcoming when I booked in.
3). PIZZA/Food - Freshly cooked on site... PLEASE ENSURE you book you pizza in early as possible as they will run out... hence me and mate ended up with chips and spicey chicken burger which was Top Notch!
4). Loads of wash areas for pots and pans... toilets and facilities initially looked small but there's a couple of gents and couple of ladies and we uised them and NEVER waiting so, although was worried... nothing.
5). Location... we ended up doing a 14.5 mile walk up and around Ingelborough... was tough and HOT but fantastic... awesome views and I'm sure there's ton's of other walks as well.
6) Location... the way it's laid out... no traffic noise... set back down a lane... every direction was countryside... simply gorgeous NOTE: Take a wind break as you are exposed and we had Easterly wind... which prevented a fire pit to a certain extent.
7). Fire Pit guys come around on a mini tractor with wood and a pit you can hire... fnatastic so you don't need to take that.
8). 50p for the showers... fine as they're EPIC!!!
9). I believe there's been a considerable investment here by the owner/owners I won't divulge, however while in the pub someone was say 7 figure sums... and you can see. Grass and the whole site immaculate is all I can say.
BEST CAMPSITE I'VE BEEN TO IN THE LAST YEAR!
