Well equipped and clean site

Handy for getting into central London. A bus right outside the site goes to the train station.

Just a big field with a road and parking areas, could do with some landscaping to separate the pitches. Only three showers for the whole site - wouldn't like to be there during a busy period. Didn't look like the shower block was cleaned while we were there (or before we arrived for that matter). Only one tap for drinking water for the whole site. Nothing of interest nearby, just in the middle of an industrial estate.

Well maintained, good basic facilities. Be aware that this is an urban location, there is an odeon cinema at the entrance to the site. The green space around the campsite is a golf course and the lake is a reservoir that you can't get close to. If you're interested in Epping Forest it is only 10 minutes or so by car to the closest point, but about an hours walk away down a fairly unpleasant route.

This is ideal for those using it as a base to explore London or who have a car to explore which we unfortunately did not, but would not recommend if you're looking to wake up in nature and walk straight out into the woods.

As a large group, we had to book multiple pitches as you are only allowed one tent per pitch. The pitches are allocated automatically, so I rang up ahead of the trip to see if they were able to place our pitches. I was told that it was not possible due to being fully booked, and even ended up paying extra fees to try and resolve the issue, but I understood that it was out of their control. On arrival, I was disappointed to see that there was little to no management of pitches. Less than half of the pitches were taken, and there would have been plenty of room for us to be together. I saw lots of groups that had multiple tents per pitch. I was disappointed that the customer service team hadn't been more helpful.

On top of this there was a large group of adults causing excessive noise way past the 11pm curfew. It took several complaints from ourselves and fellow campers to the site management team before the issue was addressed.

Facilities were clean and easy to access. Golf course grounds are very nice. Nice area for tent pitches and the benches darted around are a good touch. Easy to get to from the city and well needed escape from it without being too far from anything (If you have a car) should you need to get out and get something.

The website says they sell gas, however this is only refill for vehicles and not gas canisters for cooking so ensure you bring your gas with you! I mistakenly ended up having to do a 45 minute walk (each way) in the rain to get one. Defo bring everything camping wise that you need as there isn’t much on site you can get.

Staff were superb, so friendly and helpful.

Ladies toilet block closed for several long hours with no alternative.

Great location for easy access into London using public transport.

Play area for the kids was nice for the kids to burn off extra energy.

Good facilities, dishwashing area, motorhome service point, grey waste emptying, water close by our pitch.

Toilets could have been a bit cleaner, also toilet paper wasn’t always available in every cubicle.

Spacious, open site with good amenities. The bathrooms were clean. The best aspect is the location, just a mile from rail links into central London.

The site is a bit scruffy in parts, could do with a bit of investment.
The walk from the train station in the dark is a bit uncomfortable as it is unlit. No fault on the site though of course.
