We absolutely loved the quiet calm and idyllic setting of this site which is tucked away in Gunthorpe. You wouldn’t even know the site was there if you didn’t already know about it. It’s also perfectly located next to two lovely looking pubs.
My two girls adored the fact that the pitches back onto a field of friendly cows, which they spent most of their time making friends with!
We enjoyed a yummy bbq whilst the cows stood and watched us cook and we played games in the evening on the little picnic bench at our pitch.
The site was so calm and we awoke at 5.30am to watch the sunrise from the back of our van and it was honestly just wonderful!

We will absolutely be back 🥰

The site was large and well set out with good size pitches the toilet block was nice and clean. The gate is coded entry too so it’s secure

Dogs have to be kept on leads which is ok but wasn’t aware before we went

Nice, quiet field with lovely views. We were the only group staying in our field which was great. Had a fire pit and a few picnic benches. It served our purpose well - a get together with friends. I think if it had been any busier and if we stayed for longer than one night, the hot water situation would’ve annoyed us but we were able to shower and do the washing up at home so we were good.

No hot water in the washing up area. My husband had a cold shower but I think the sinks in the bathrooms had warm water.

I can honestly say the top field we stayed in was small but very flat. And the views from our pitch were the best we've been to. The fields and countryside view was amazing.
The location is fantastic. There are so many places you can visit with 30 minutes. And just outside the gates is the River Trent, where you can take longs walks along the river. There is a pub right outside the gates also which do lovely pub meals.
But this is as far as the Likes go.....

There is only 1 toilet and 1 shower in the gents bathroom. And for a site were there were around 20 males, this is not good. The ladies has 2 toilets and my wife had to queue many times.
We had to text the owners for toilet paper and hand wash, which we shouldn't have to.
The toilets were sort of cleaned for about 2 minutes each day. They were covered in spiders, and we had to clear them away one day.
It is a very expensive site for what you get, and to be charged £12 to join the Greener club is not acceptable as I would not go back to this site. In fact it was our last camping trip so we did not want to join any club.
This site has lots of potential, and we told the owner this on our last day. Get bigger and cleaner bathrooms, and drop this £12 fee.

Friendly environment, nice welcome over text from the owners, good pitch size, great location with bars and restaurants very close-by and some good walks on your door step here too.

Rowdy on a night, due to it being an unmanned place (owners welcome you with a text and passcode, aren’t on site) people ignored the rules and the toilet block quickly became untidy, had to ask for toilet roll whilst there which quickly ran out again less than a day later. Owners need to visit the site a couple of times a day in the height of summer to ensure everything is running as it should. It is in your interest to do this, because the pitch next to us kept inviting extra car fulls of people to party on a night (they were a real pain!). Your site is lovely but you need to invest in ensuring the rules are followed.

The camping field - the location is perfect and in a lovely quiet area. Lots of things to do in the area and some lovely walks, bars and restaurants from the campsite. Lots of activities and Nottingham centre only 30 mins away.

The facilities, 2 toilets and 1 shower for each of the male and females. Which if the campsite was full would have been a real struggle to get a shower in the mornings. The sheer volume of spiders in the bathrooms were unreal. I understand camping is back to nature and there’s always going to be a few creepy crawlies, but it was just silly. They weren’t very clean either. Toilet roll and soap ran out. The owners were away during our stay and there were young people ‘looking after the place’ while they were away, having parties, smoking weed and not cleaning.

We stayed in the top field and it has amazing views and very quiet, feels safe as they have a electric gate to get in.
Lovely walks down to the river side and a pub and restaurant close by.

Toilets weren't regularly cleaned and no hand soap for 2 days
Washing area again not looked after such a shame as could be great.
Mouldy apples all over the entrance to the toilet which you had to be careful not to slip on them (be aware if taking someone who is not steady on there feet).
