Police urge caravanner caution after theft

Police in Lincolnshire are urging caravan owners to check and increase the security of their caravans, after two were stolen in the county this month.
An Elddis Avante 475 was stolen from Sutton St James on 15 June, while an Abi Jubilee was taken from Holbeach Bank on 24 June.
Police have not said whether the two thefts are connected, but have warned caravan owners to check the security and anti-theft devices of their vehicles, and to ensure caravans are fitted with an alarm, wheel clamp or security post, hitch lock and tracking device.
Actor Ricky Tomlinson had his £13,000 Hobby 635 stolen recently, and insurers such as the AA have said that many caravans are taken by professional thieves who steal them to order. For tips on how to keep your caravan safe from thieves, take a look at our latest blog.
