  • Surrounded by hiking and cycling trails and a short drive from Le Mans
  • Short drive to miniature golf, pony rides, tree climbing and ziplining
  • Fishing lake, pool and playground with bouncy castle and trampoline
Direct access to a fishing lake? Yep. A packed programme of entertainment and activities? Got that. Outdoor pool? Got that one too. On site, Camping Smile et Braudières has plenty to keep all ages amused… And off? Get ready for lots of family walks and bike rides, for this site’s locale is positively brimming with pretty hiking and cycling trails; further afield is a leisure base in Sillé-le-Guillaume, a zoo in La Flèche and tours around the historic core of Le Mans. Should you be partial to catching poisson or two, the on-site fishing lake is free for guests to use; and as well as a pool there’s a playground with a trampoline, a ping pong table and a bouncy castle too, plus swings, slides and other stuff to clamber on. Of course, it wouldn’t be fair to leave the grownups sans piles to do too, so for all ages there’s also a football field plus pétanque and badminton courts, and during summer an evening entertainment programme consists most crackingly of dance parties, karaoke nights, darkened pool dips and swanky cocktail soirees, plus pétanque, fishing and other sporty tournaments. The seasonal snack bar serves simple evening fodder plus breakfast eats too, and a bread delivery is available as an alternative morning option.

Power optional gravel motorhome site

Liked: The site is located in a very rural location, surrounded by walks in the nearby forests. The site itself has everything you need, the shower blocks are clean and tidy. The lady owner has a lovely shop which supplies everything you need and she will take pre-orders for your morning baguette. You can even borrow a european 2 pin adaptor if you don't have one. Highly recommended site

Disliked: It rained and was a little muddy!!

Liked: Peaceful location. Pleasant and friendly staff.

Disliked: Very remote and difficult to find in the dark as there were no signs. There was a power cut over night meaning we had no use of showers hot water or power.

Power optional gravel motorhome site

Liked: Lovely rural setting very quiet had a great nights sleep.Owners were very helpful and friendly. Facilities were very clean and showers were nice and hot.We only stayed one night as a stop over towards the end of the season so pool was not open but liked the rural area it was located. There also appeared to be a bar/ restaurant which we did not use and a children’s playground.Would like to return for a longer stay in the future.

Local attractions

Lots of splendid hiking and cycling trails start right on site for easy exploration of these scenic surrounds, and should you fancy something further afield the famed hiking trails around Saint-Léonard-des-Bois in the Mancelles Alps are a scenic 40 minute pootle by car. The vast leisure base a mere 25 minutes’ drive away in Sillé-le-Guillaume has plenty of fun family pursuits to get stuck into both in and out of the water, like boating, pedalo rides, fishing and canoeing, plus a tree-climbing and ziplining park, tiny-train tours, pony rides and miniature golf. The handsome and historic centre of Le Mans and its Bugatti circuit – home of the world's longest-running endurance car race – is 40 minutes’ drive away, and for further history-based day trips visit L'Epau Abbey, just outside the city, or an hour’s drive south of Smile et Braudières the Château du Lude, one of the many famed Loire Valley châteaux. Guests with tiddlers in tow can whisk them off to the 14-hectare Zoo de la Flèche, to gaze upon animal shows and meet the likes of rhinos, monkeys, panthers and elephants, all among a menagerie of 1,500 birds, reptiles and mammals settled into habitats among the zoo's thoughtfully laid-out enclosures.
