Moon Dance Glamping and Camping: Preparing for campers

General

  • Woodland glamping site 10 minutes' drive from the Pembrokeshire coast
  • Tenby, Folly Farm and Blue Lagoon waterpark within a 20-minute drive
  • Private garden area with firepits, seating and outdoor fairy lights

In a couple of acres of young woodland, 10 minutes’ drive from the coast, and with easy access to a main road for jaunts further afield… yup, it’s pretty easy to see why owners Penny and Jon picked this prime Pembrokeshire spot just outside Llanteg to set up home.

Being kind souls, they’ve chosen to share their place with guests too – just a few at a time, mind you, to make sure everyone gets the benefit of the area’s peaceful vibe. And what a peaceful vibe it is in the bell tents at Moon Dance Glamping and Camping, set up in open glades within the woods and each with its own willow-fenced private garden space. Outdoor chairs, firepits/barbecues and twinkly lights have all been set up for each tent, and there are local logs and bags of charcoal available to keep you toasty on evenings spent staring at the starry sky.

Fancy cuddling up under cover instead? It’s pretty cosy in the tents too – each one has a woodburning stove by which you can settle with a cup of tea or coffee whipped up using the supplies provided in your tent. For more elaborate food prep needs, there’s a covered kitchen area a short stroll away, next to the compost loo and modern shower.

You might like to take that cuppa on a wander around the site instead, of course – it’s the sort of place where you may well spot a good cluster of birds and butterflies as you go. More extensive walking plans in mind? The Landsker Trail runs right past the site, and the gorgeous Pembrokeshire Coast Path is about three miles away.

Please note

No cars/motorcycles at the site. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Myself and my three children had a lovely stay. The owners couldn’t have been any more helpful, they were so friendly and welcoming and clearly take a lot of pride in their site. The facilities were exceptionally clean. We had our own allocated toilet, shower and washing up area. The camping field was well kept and tidy-making it easy to pitch.
Location is good for exploring off site.
I would recommend to other campers and hopefully we’ll visit again.
Their other business is archery, aerial archery, and axe and knife throwing! Make sure you book a lesson during your stay as it’s great fun.
    Thank you Penny and Jon

Form the start to finish Jon and Penny were fabulous and cannot do enough to make your stay as lovely as possible. The site is so spacious like nowhere else we have experienced, the facilities are pristine and it truly is a special place to stay, with just 5 pitches in the whole field, fire pits and bbqs what more could you ask for. Jon and Penny are really passionate about what they have created, they have put in lots of hard work to make both the Glamping and tent pitches beautiful and it’s clearly a labour of love as opposed to squeezing people in and making money. We hope to return soon and would absolutely recommend Moon Dance to everyone without hesitation 👍

Everything has been thought of! Lovely welcome basket containing fruit, eggs, hot choc, marshmallows and info. Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar in the tent, proper plates, cups etc in the tent, fab log burner, free bucket of logs to get you started and more available at a small cost. We just got back so not the warmest time of the year but the log burner kept the tent lovely and cosy! Beautifully made up comfy futon bed, solar powered chargers and lights in the tent which worked great! Excellent covered kitchen area between the two well spaced out tent pitches with extra tea, coffee etc and all the cooking utensils/equipment you could need! Clean facilities, excellent shower! covered washing up area. Separate fridge/freezer available. There are only 2 bell tents in the glamping area, each with their own fire-pit, camp chairs and again free bucket of logs, they are very private pitches (even having separate pathways to the loo!) Lovely friendly owners who are just a text away if needed. The pathways aren't lit so you will need to pack a torch for trips to the loo after dark but its well worth it for the magical starlit sky above! Thanks P & J, we had a lovely time and will definitely be back!

Local attractions

Pembrokeshire’s a place where you can pack your days full of activity or keep things slow-paced as you prefer. If you’re planning on the former, you might like to start with a very short walk (just a minute or so) to Aim Country Sports to hone your weaponry skills with indoor archery, aerial archery and (gulp) axe throwing.

If you’re not up for hurling dangerous objects about, try less peril-filled days out at The Secret Owl Garden, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo or the Blue Lagoon waterpark – all are within a 15-minute drive.

Down to the coast is a must, at some point – adventure-seekers can sign up for more challenges on a coasteering trip from Tenby (20 minutes’ drive) while those looking for something a little more sedate can sort fishing trips in the harbour, ramble along the coast path or settle on one of the town's beaches for sandcastles and ice creams. Saundersfoot and the seven-mile Pendine Sands are also within a 20-minute drive for more beach action.
