Carn Springs: Carn Springs at night

General

  • Small wildlife haven site set around a large pond
  • Within walking distance of many attractions including Heatherton
  • Modern toilet and shower block

What a peaceful place… Pembrokeshire's Carn Springs, in a wildlife haven near the coast at Tenby, is set in mature grounds with a central lake making up a natural habitat for many species of birds, waterfowl and other critters: rest relaxedly here around the campfire to see swallows and bats flitting overhead as dusk falls…

This is a site for switching off at, whether you want to lie back and think of nature spotting, read, paint, or visit the many traditional towns and villages nearby. When/if you want to switch on again, Heatherton World of Activities, Manor House Wildlife Park and Tenby Dinosaur Park are all within walking distance and the harbour village of Saundersfoot is a short drive away.

Carn Springs has geese, guinea fowl, chicken and ducks so free-range eggs are often available. Its modern toilet and shower block has large showers and hot running water; the site also has a washing-up area and chemical disposal.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Basic site but the view of the lake makes up for other shortcomings.02/10/2020

View of the lake was fabulous, basic shop but had all the essentials, brilliant location between Tenby and Saundersfoot. Staff friendly. Fire pit was a nice touch. Easy access to taps and electric hookup.

    Disliked:

Toilet and shower facilities in need of a refresh, water temperature and pressure inconsistent. Audible road noise competing with Britain's loudest cow (that might actually be a positive now I think about it). Our pitch was very exposed. Sand on pitches, reduces risk of bogging but the stuff gets everywhere.

Just got back from a 5 night stay at Care Springs - we had a lovely time and a warm welcome including Welsh Cakes on arrival.
Very clean toilet/shower block, although basic the showers were always hot and clean. The site also had all measures in place to deal with COVID, hand sanitisers and anti bac sprays in all cubicles.
All pitches were flat and although the park wasn't that busy you could see that there was plenty of room between pitches. We pitched next to the hedge which meant we were well protected which was great as I think we seen all weather from sunshine, wind, thunder, lightening and even hail. The pitch drained really well and we had no problems.
We'd definitely recommend Carn Springs to friends and family and will be back to stay again

Loved the position overlooking the pond and the peacefullness. Loved being provided with a log burner of course had to buy the logs. The site had a convenient little shop in the reception area. You could order meat for your barbeque as the butcher came regularly to the site. The owners told us of a dog friendly taxi service which was great and we used it to go to Tenby Saundersfoot and Broadhaven. The toilet and shower blocks were kept very clean and they had sprays and mops left for us to use to keep the areas clean. Would definately go back
