Local attractions
Pembrokeshire is a place with loads to do, from pottering around ancient sites to launching oneself into the waves off one of its several spectacular beaches. Sailing, windsurfing and body boarding spots are all easy to find very close by.
Conifers Farm is a few minutes' drive from the Pembrokeshire coastline and the much-recommended Pembrokeshire Coast Path, accessible via Newport on its 186-mile run.
Hike the 15 or so miles from Newport to St Dogmaels if you feel up for a challenge, via dolphin spotting over the Teifi Estuary and seals pupping in autumn on the sands at Cemaes Head; away from the coast, Carn Ingli and the Preseli Hills are also good options for hikes your legs will remember the next day.
The Iron Age fort of Castell Henllys is a few miles away and plenty of Pembrokeshire old piles and monuments are around to explore: try Newport and Pembroke castles, the cathedral at tiny St Davids, the Garn Wen burial chamber in Fishguard and the stone circles of the Preseli Hills.
Along the coast at Tenby, have an animal day out with a trip to see the inhabitants at Manor House Wildlife Park (aka Anna's Welsh Zoo).
