While away days in west Wales at family-run Moelfryn Caravan and Camping Park, a spot with spectacular views over the Teifi valley and a top location from which to explore it.

One of the main places to see in the green countryside around this site is the village of Cenarth (just over 10 minutes’ drive) and its Teifi river waterfalls. Come in autumn to watch the salmon jumping upstream or visit any time of year for the diverse display of rounded boats at The National Coracle Centre.

Another place of interest nearby is the popular town of Newcastle Emlyn, just over five minutes’ drive, which sits on the outskirts of Carmarthenshire and houses one of Wales’ 600 or so castles. Pubs, restaurants and takeaways – not to mention small locally run shops – are also here if you’re needing eats or essentials and a leisure centre’s to hand as well with a gym and indoor pool for rainy days.

And if it’s sunny? Then you’ll surely be wanting to zip between the beaches close by, whether Aberporth (25 minutes’ drive), Llangrannog (30 minutes) or Poppit Sands (35 minutes). The Wales Coast Path can also be accessed around any of these spots and chances to cave, surf, climb and cycle are all around.

Back at the park after such strenuous sportiness, recently refurbished amenities including sanitary facilities with underfloor heating and a launderette will have you sorted.

    Stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The toilet block was lovely and clean and felt safe with the covid guidelines that were in place. Nice small quiet site with beautiful views. Will 100% be returning.

    Very clean site with good toilet/ shower facilities. They considered the COVID-19 restrictions very well and we both felt very safe.
    Disliked: 

    The pitch we were on was very small and despite it being advertised that we could have an awning, there wouldn't have been room. My parents did stay though and they had a bigger pitch with room for the awning despite us both paying the same to stay. As we were only there for 3 days we didn't mind not having it up so didn't speak to the staff about it.

Parents' Pitch
Reason you thought your parents' pitch was much bigger is due to the fact they did not park their caravan properly in the pitch they were allocated, hence, encroaching on the next pitch. Although they were showed where the caravan should be as they had almost parked the van in the middle of two pitches. They moved it slightly still not where they should have been and complaining to other guests that we were fussy but not to us. We do have to comply with strict safety guidelines for the safety of all our guests. As it happened the pitch they had encroached on were our regular guests so they were very understanding as your parents' stay was only 3 nights. Guests on the left side literally did not have a full pitch as they should have had. Also, we noticed that your parents' had a party one afternoon, with people arriving from outside. No consideration even to inform us that they were inviting guests from outside. Once again there are safety reasons why we have to know at all times the guests on site plus our park and facilities are not for general public. Specially this year, Due to Covid 19 there are strict guidelines to know who is on the site in case someone had the symptoms. A little consideration would have been appreciated.

Your Pitch
You mentioned that there was no room to put your awning up. Very surprised as there was a twin axle van in that pitch before your arrival and they had a full awning up with ample space between them and the next van. Perhaps your van was not parked correctly. Had you raised your concerns at the time we would have accommodated you in a more suitable pitch to your desire.

Once again very sorry you were not happy. We do try our best to accommodate everyone so they have lovely time whilst here.

    We had a lovely 5 night stay at this campsite on a full service pitch, although the weather was not the best but nothing Rose can do about that. The facilities were absolutely spotless and cleaned regularly and social distancing in place at all times. The site is in a lovely area for getting to the coast and Cenarth falls and just a 5 minute drive into Newcastle Emlyn for any shopping you need.

    The pitches were flat and well maintained, as soon as we arrived the owner came to greet us and showed us everything, explained everything, the offered us a hot drink as we were in a tent ( take us a while to set up for a drink). The toilets and shower block was the best I’ve been in so clean constant hot water and free. The site itself is peaceful, tranquil and so relaxing, it’s on top of the hills so narrow lanes to get to, no problem though. Free WIF. Can’t recommend this site enough. Will definitely be back.

Local attractions

Within an hour of the park are three cracking family-friendly day trips to head out on. Try The National Botanic Garden of Wales first (45 minutes' drive away) if you’re a fan of flowers: this centre consists of 560 acres of land split into themed areas with more than 8,000 types of plants on show. It’s also got an on-site coffee shop for a bit of a breather after strolling through the scenery and a gift store as well as plenty of parking.

If the kids are clamouring for pools and slides send them off to the Blue Lagoon Water Park (50 minutes) for an all-weather, all-year-round experience; Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (also 50 minutes) meanwhile is another option for keeping the younger members of your tribe amused.

Bigger kids are usually more taken by Oakwood Theme Park (50 minutes’ drive) – keep an eye out for special events like an after-dark show with live performances and colourful firework displays if you're after some evening entertainment too.

Moelfryn Caravan and Camping Park cancellation policy

No refunds within 13 days of arrival date.

Between 28 and 14 days before arrival 50% of the balance will be retained.

Modifications are subject to a £10.00 ($19.46) fee.

Bookings cannot be amended within 5 day(s) of arrival.

No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please give as much notice as possible so that someone else has the chance to book. You may wish to buy holiday insurance for cancellations and for your property/injury whilst away.

Please note that your deposit is paid to Pitchup.com and is non-refundable.

Payment

Deposit transferable during COVID-19. Moelfryn Caravan and Camping Park will debit the balance from your card 4 weeks before arrival, or if the arrival date is sooner than 4 weeks then the balance will be taken immediately.
