General
- Peaceful award-winning park in the grounds of a 16th-century farmhouse
- Wildlife haven covering 12 acres, three miles from the coast
- Woodland walk, immaculate amenities and spacious pitches
Well now, this is pretty perfect. You'll be able to spy plenty of reasons why guests return to award-winning, peaceful and popular Plas Farm Caravan Park year after year: it’s in a wildlife haven covering 12 acres of viewful Conwy countryside, and is kept impeccably clean by owners John and Sian.
And it comes with easy access to some of Wales’s top attractions – the beaches and coastal walks of north Wales are three miles away and the coastal A55 road is within easy reach to get to Chester, the Isle of Anglesey and Snowdonia. A pub within walking distance and takeaway deliveries straight to one’s pitch probably help too…
John and Sian opened Plas Farm as a campsite in the grounds of a Grade II-listed 16th-century farmhouse and keep it to stellar standards, with spotless toilets, showers with heaps of hot water and roomy pitches laid out to give maximum privacy.
There are acres of room for the kids to run around and the farm also has its own woodland walk for dog walks. Betws yn Rhos and its shop are a short walk away to pick up supplies; this is also where you’ll find the local pub.

Local attractions
The towns of Abergele, Conwy, Colwyn Bay, Rhyl and St Asaph are all near Plas Farm; there are coastal and countryside sights and activities close to hand too, including watersports, steam railways, hill walking, tennis, sea fishing from Conwy Quay and landing salmon and trout in the River Conwy and River Elwy.
Take your bucket and spade to Wales’s biggest seaside resort, the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno, just along the coast on the Creuddyn peninsula to see the longest pier in Wales and the views from the cable car ride up the Great Orme.
Other seaside shenanigans can be had at nearby Rhyl, which has six miles of sand and a seafront SeaQuarium; its neighbour Prestatyn (follow the sands from Rhyl); and Colwyn Bay with three miles of Blue Flag beaches. The Welsh Mountain Zoo with exotic birds and beasts as well as locally-grown farm animals is just outside Colwyn Bay.
Inland, saplings of all sizes should enjoy a day out at Snowdonia’s award-winning Greenwood Forest Park, with a wealth of things to do including the world’s only people powered rollercoaster, a 70-metre sledge run, four indoor play barns for rainy days and regular arts and crafts activities for crafty youngsters.
Then come back to Snowdonia for another day or two, to mountain bike around Coed Llandegla Forest (energetic) or take a trip on the spectacular Snowdon Mountain Railway to the mountain’s summit (restful).
