The Rodney Stoke Caravan and Camping Park

Very pleasant stay, was for three nights, bit off the beaten track but very nice.
Bus to Weston Super Mare, Cheddar stop just up road.
Pub not used as was in lockdown.

We like it it was a pre Christmas break bus service was good 2miles from cheddar and about 4 miles from wells which we love weather was no good so didnt get to go on different walks with dog then teir 4 came in so had to go home will be back summer to appreciate what it has to offer. Thankyou to tom who runs the site very clean and tidy. not very large site very nice pub and beer garden though we never went to have a meal or a drink due to covid

Tidy clean and quiet location - good for walking and cycling - Cheddar and Wells are about 5 miles each away.
Small compact toilet and shower block with seperate washing up area. Tom was great very friendly hospitable and had a good laugh 😁😁 50 per 10 mins shower

Everything. Tom was as helpful as ever. If u want a relaxed and quiet getaway then you'll enjoy being here. Bonus having a pub on your doorstep too

This is a charming small site tucked in to the Mendip Hills between Wells and Cheddar. The facilities have just been upgraded, so the showers are god and hot, the toilets and wash basins all clean and well looked after. There's a nice little washing up room too and it's open year-round.
It has a generally laid back vibe with Country music playing quietly on the veranda by the office which is manned by Tom, a welcoming figure who manages the site.
We visited just after Lockdown 2, so the pub was still practically empty but it looks as if it would be a great asset once we can mingle freely again.

Plans to install Wifi have been delayed by Covid and phone reception is patchy, mostly 3G, so if being connected matters check before you book.
The hardstanding pitches could do with gravel infill at the corners to allow motor homes and caravans to pitch up without messing up the grass. We were asked to push our caravan into position rather than drive it in. If you want an awning you'll need to set up right at the edge of the concrete hardstanding as it doesn't take pegs, but the edges slope so a ramp is necessary to level up the 'van. Try pushing a caravan without motor movers onto a ramp!

Another lovely stay at Rodney Stoke despite the weather. Tom was brilliant as always, really friendly and helped us to physically push our Basecamp into the pitch! All very COVID compliant and the new facilities are great and very clean. Love local walks accessible from the campsite. Many thanks for another fab stay and we’ll be back!

not covid aware, they had alcohol free hand gel for customers to use, I pointed this out that it was not any use against covid, and the manager said he didn't really believe in covid and that their was no proof people die from it. How can someone like that be in charge of keeping guest safe. Pitches are very very small on the hard standing so you where stepping out on wet muddy slippery grass. then he moaned that we drove over the corner of the grass, had the pitches been of normal size we would not have needed to go on the grass.
no social distancing between pitches. toilet block although new and looks fab on first appearances if you look in the shower cubicles they have black mould all round the edges.
was not informed you need to purchase a token either for the shower, only found out once hubby was in them at 7.30 Sunday morning not going to go and knock on managers caravan to purchase a token. so the campsite was awful if I am honest. I don't not normally do review's but do feel strongly about having the wrong hand gel out for guest to use, not worth having it at all. I must say though we went to the pub which is not owed by the campsite and they where fantastic staff and food.
