General

  • Shepherd's hut in a three-acre meadow in rural Cornwall
  • Dog friendly with plenty of privacy and space
  • Double bed, board games, books, verandah and woodburning stove

Frizparc Shepherd's Hut is a secluded glamping site deep in Cornwall countryside, and a fine spot for escaping busy tourist resorts – it's just outside the teeny hamlet of Tresmeer and about a 15-minute drive from Launceston.

Pack your wellies and walking boots for a quiet retreat here: the hut is set in its own three-acre meadow, providing plenty of privacy for couples and lots of space for kids to run around and play. The hut has a double bed (4ft 6in x 5ft 8in); extra guests can pitch their own tent outside the cabin.

A particularly fine way to take in the views over the Dartmoor hills here is to settle on the verandah for alfresco dining. For a bit of evening entertainment, the hut has board games and a selection of books – or you could always choose simply to snuggle up near the woodburning stove.

Eco-friendly touches here include the solar panels that supply the site with electricity and a solar thermal system that helps to heat the water.

Other facilities include a washing-up corner, toilet and shower as well as a storage room for your boots and coats.

Please note

No cars/motorcycles at the site. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

Please note, the occupancy inside the hut is strictly limited to up to 2 people. Extra guests can pitch their own tents outside the hut; please select the relevant extra.

The hut is 100 metres away over a grass field with no vehicular access to bring your gear to the unit.

We have had loved to stay there, so quiet and close to nature. Not to far from local willage and shops and far enough to have a rest from city.
Perfect to stay and relax or to stay and travel to visit local attractions.
Viv was a great host, she have provided allyou need to stay in the hut which was nice and cosy.
We loved evenings by the fire pit where you could even cook your dinner.

We had an amazing time and loved the hut! The peace and tranquility of having the whole site to ourselves was great. We enjoyed the fire pit and had a BBQ whilst taking in the great views. The hut was spotlessly clean and well-equipped. Lots of nice homely touches which were really appreciated. Highly recommended!

This was an absolutely perfect place to stay in a really beautiful location. The hut was extremely well kitted out and very clean and welcoming. Viv was excellent and has obviously worked hard to 'think of everything' one might need. I would give this 100%, and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a bit of peace and quiet. Will definitely stay again, no hesitation.
