General

  • Spacious pitches in a secluded valley in the South Downs National Park
  • Hidden away and far from traffic noise
  • Many local walks and village with good pub a short walk away

Despite its name, guests at Brocklands Farm are highly unlikely to be badgered by anyone during their stay... This simple and peaceful site near Petersfield in the South Downs National Park keeps its pitch numbers low so guests can have plenty of space. It's secluded from traffic noise, in a lush green valley surrounded by lovely walks.

The on-site facilities are limited to chemical waste disposal and a drinking water supply, but it’s an easy walk to the village of West Meon, where there’s a pub that serves grub, an award-winning butcher and a well-stocked community shop.

The spacious pitches here are grassy and fairly level; rally groups and well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Please note

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, customers can amend their dates with the campsite/holiday park free of charge for all stays up to, and including, 31 Dec 2021.

Tents are not accepted at this park.

This site has no on-site toilet and shower facilities.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

The disused Meon Valley railway runs along side the farm and made a lovely walk into the village. Scenery of all the surrounding farms breath taking, especially watching the birds.

Lovely walks right from the doorstep and a very friendly welcome. Local pub was great for a couple of pints and is an easy walk if you've got little ones (ours is of the puppy variety!)

    Disliked:

Not as quiet as we'd been expecting as the nearby road is pretty busy and very popular with bikers, even into the small hours.

Local attractions

The tree-lined former railway line that runs next to Brocklands is an excellent starting point for rambles and cycle rides; a popular destination a couple of miles away is Old Winchester Hill, a nature reserve with an Iron Age Hill fort. is also very handy for the South Downs Way, for those who want to walk or pedal further afield.

The Watercress Line heritage railway, which runs from New Alresford to Alton, is another lovely way to explore the Hampshire countryside; or if you prefer to stay put, you could always park yourself in a scenic spot at the Moorhen Trout Fishery up the road.

For a fulfilling day trip, wend your way to winsome Winchester: if you’re lucky, you may catch the famous choir in action within the splendour of the 900-year-old cathedral; other visitor attractions in this charming and compact city include a range of excellent museums, castle ruins, and an Arthurian round table, plus fab restaurants and independent shops.

Chi-chi Chichester is another pleasant place to while away a day, or you could head to Portsmouth to take a harbour tour and visit the historic dockyards, where HMS Victory and the Mary Rose are among the tiptop naval exhibits on display.
