Snape Bank Farm: Spectacular sunsets

General

  • Peaceful and secluded site on a working farm five miles from Crewe
  • Within walking distance of two thatched black and white pubs
  • Under an hour's drive from Alton Towers and Cheshire

What a lovely little place – and within walking distance of a thatched black and white pub that that the Snape Bank Farm owners say is an absolute must.

Peace and quiet reigns at this off-grid, secluded and rural site, on a small working farm with beef suckler cows and rare breed sheep (and hens; farm eggs are available for your morning fry-up). This is a land of serene countryside walks and spectacular sunsets, teeny old-fashioned Cheshire villages, and family days out to keep kids occupied for weeks: Alton Towers is less than an hour's drive away.

The yurt for hire is in a secluded suntrap on the farm, and comes with its own bathroom facility with shower and composting toilet. It's equipped too with a camp-style kitchen cooker, cutlery and crockery for four persons, pots pans and a kettle, plus bedding for the double bed. Logs for the woodburner can be purchased from the site,

Snape Bank is within simple strolling distance of the old village of Barthomley and the White Lion pub; the White Lion of Weston is within walking distance in the other direction. Further afield, Crewe is five miles away and Chester is within an hour's drive.

The team can book off-road experiences for guests with a bit of notice: just let them know your requirements when you book.

The Bell tent was fantastic. We loved the peace and quiet and being surrounded by gorgeous Ryland sheep.

Log burner smoked too much in the bell tent so we didn’t end up lighting it on the second night. We were cold otherwise I would of definitely given 5 stars

I stayed in the bell tent for 5 days with my young daughter. The tent was clean, pretty and with a comfortable bed and bed clothes. We had torrential rain and high winds but the tent was sturdy and didn’t leak. Jane and Jim were good hosts and the cows and sheep good neighbours! If you’re happy to be totally off grid this place is the perfect getaway. We will definitely stay again. Thanks so much for a lovely stay

    The portaloo!
The kitchen area was slightly low in height so I found I couldn’t stand up straight when cooking and washing etc
