  • Romantic hideaway with rural views in a small Northumberland wood
  • In the beautiful Tyne Valley, a 30-minute drive from Newcastle
  • Well-equipped luxury bell tents on a dark-skies site; close to a pub
What a treat – Bluebell Wood Glamping offers luxurious bell tents for a romantic getaway or friends’ retreat in Northumberland’s gorgeous Tyne Valley countryside. It’s hidden away all on its own in private woodland, and there’s nothing around to disturb you, except for the occasional moo from the resident cows. This may be an off grid, wild camping experience, but it’s certainly a very comfortable one. Artfully kitted out with a proper bed and quality linens, the bell tent also has plenty of storage, easy chairs and even cosy throws for those chillier days or evenings. All essential (vintage, no less) crockery, cookware and utensils are provided so you can eat alfresco, cosied up around the charcoal barbecue while warming your toes on the firepit. Exclusive use of a loo and basic washing facilities are laid on too, as well as fresh water for drinking and washing. It’s a few minutes’ walk from your car to your tent, and although this is a dark-skies site (just wait until you see those stars on clear nights), solar-powered LED lights and fairy lights will keep you all lit up. There’s even a solar USB charge point so you can touch base with home. The owners provide complimentary starter packs with tea, coffee and a few goodies, so please let them know if you have any dietary requirements. A peaceful walk through the fields brings you to Stockfield village, oh-so-handy for the award-winning gastro pub, where you can eat in or takeaway. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but they must be kept on the lead to ensure the safety of the livestock and wildlife.

Mistletoe bell tent

Liked: Heather was amazing and the location is lovely. We don't glamp often but it was very comfortable and we all slept well. The toilets were nice too. It is nice to be able to not haul everything you need with you and use the things that are there. The views across the field were also great!

Mistletoe bell tent

Liked: The communication throughout was excellent. The welcome we received from Michelle was also above and beyond what we could’ve expected. The setting was idyllic and the facilities were excellent. We will definitely be returning. The fresh cows milk was a particular highlight that my sons really enjoyed!

Disliked: Pub round the corner was a bit expensive but other than that everything was excellent.

Bluebell bell tent

Liked: What can we say apart from 5* service from start to finish. We met Michelle who showed us to the tent and offered to take our gear in her car (4 wheel drive) as our car would have been stuck in the field due to the heavy down pour the day before. We were taken to the most amazing and cosy bell tent, and were greeted with, tea, coffee, fresh cows milk and hot & cold water. We also had access to a cool box and blocks as well as all all the utensils and crockery needed for the stay. We had our own BBQ and fire pit and access to a pizza oven. The tent was beyond cosy and exceeded expectation. Our 6yr old and little Jackapoo had the best time playing in the field and making memories. The place was immaculate and even the compost toilet was nipping clean. We were also escorted back up to our car on departure with our gear over the short walk up hill to the car. We will def be back and have already recommended this to family and friends. Thanku 4 a brilliant retreat from our busy lifestyles. 11/10 for sure. Xxxx

Bluebell bell tent

Liked: Lovely spot for our weekend getaway. Just us, the night sky, fire pit and the cows. Felt like a million miles away from the usual life routine. Heather was a great host and made us feel very welcome and looked after. Would recommend to anyone looking for a camping getaway with some home comforts and not wanting the bother of putting up a tent.
