Ludlow, 10 minutes away

General

  • Peaceful park with fishing on the banks of the River Teme
  • A 10-minute drive from Ludlow and 30 from Hereford
  • Haven for hikers, anglers and birdwatchers; dog friendly

Make yourself comfortable at Westbrook Farm Park, a family-friendly site in Little Hereford, a 10-minute drive from the foodie town of Ludlow in Shropshire.

This pretty site is on the banks of the Teme River, and is well placed for waterside explorations: there's over half a mile of river for fishing, waterside walks (with or without canine companions) and idle times on the site seating or around the picnic tables. Keep your eyes peeled too to spot the birds that flit all around; ducks, herons and kingfishers all have their homes here.

Venturing into the surroundings, there are hikes, bike rides and horse riding canters to tackle: the site is 15 minutes from the Grafton Farm Equestrian Centre and walking and cycling trails in the Mortimer Forest, and 20 minutes form Wheely Wonderful Cycling, 20 minutes away. If none of this appeals, an information hut next to reception is full of suggestions for places to see and places to eat and drink nearby... send the kids to the playground, and settle down with a cup of tea or coffee while you consider your options.

This site is a member of Bestparks group.

I really enjoyed staying at Westbrook Farm Park. The walks from the site were varied and the dog walking area beside the river amongst the apple trees was perfect with benches to enjoy the peace and quiet. I didn’t use the facilities as I was self contained but everything was clean and tidy.

The facilities where excellent - they were spotless and had good social distancing measures in place. Lots of hand gel on site too. The children’s park was a good size for our 2 year old daughter. The river at the end of the campsite was beautiful too.

The closest pub (Tameside pub) wasn’t open due to COVID. They were doing takeaways to the campsite instead with 10% off. The food was nice - except the chicken skewers were undercooked.

Extremely clean and beautifully laid out. Pitxhes were really well spaced and didn't feel crammed in. River walk was gorgeous. Very pretty area. Aerial cable for TV reception.

    Disliked:

Dont really blame the site for this but there we're children being allowed to play in the shower/toilet block late at night with nobody around to stop them. Not really good in current times. It is not far from quite a noisy road too but we got used to that. The shower block
could have done with some form of heating but the weather had only just changed to quite cold so I'm sure thst will change soon. They were extremely clean and we still thought it is a lovely site.

From the manager...

Thank you for your comments , we were made aware of the children sitting on the floor in the washrooms, as you say it was dark , so where the parents thought their children were I don't know . We did have a word with the parents ,

Our Toilet and showers are normally heated but at this time for safety we are leaving the main doors open to let as much air circulate as possible .

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again.
