Was going to arrive late, emailed the owner and they were very accommodating.

A lovely quiet site with some great views and walks of the local countryside. Showers and toilets were spotless. Very friendly owners who met us any gave us the gate code and site info. Secure site and was well maintained. Great access to Holmfirth for food etc. but it’s a hilly walk back for some. THE CARDING SHED is a must if you like coffee, cake and car memorabilia and in the way to town. The site is a little exposed and can be windy and cold as a result, so pitch up well and bring some warmer clothes than you think and you’ll be sorted. I’ve stated before and have already booked for another stay.

Friendly owners. Spotlessly clean toilets and showers. Great location for walkers with a short walk to Holmfirth (but it may be an hilly walk back for the unfit).

One of our group had trouble sleeping with the noise from their wind turbine but would be easily sorted with earplugs. One of our pitches (pitch 6) was very uneven and there is no overhead cover at the pot washing station which could be an issue in the rain.

Toilet / showers spotless, welcome fantastic, site beautiful and clean.
Peaceful and quiet. Children happily played together.
Wonderful sunsets. Wonderful clear skies at night, and fantastic views.
Mostly flat.

As it is high up, it does get chilly at night so take something warm to wear while you're sitting out of your tent or caravan.
It is a very steep hill to walk down/up to Holmfirth town.

The campsite was clean, secure and very friendly. There is ample room in your pitch for the tent and to keep your car nearby.

Very welcoming on arrival, site and shower/ toilet block were spotless. Lovely setting.. Peaceful and quiet.

Only minor dislike was wind turbine noise.

Lovely views with Holmfirth just 10 mins away. Go outdoors which is now on a retail park is only 20 mins away if you need anything. Subway and Greggs is also on the same site. It is not on New street as Google first suggest. It is on Leeds Road Huddersfield.

Site was well equipped as listed on Pitch Up. Everything was spotless regards toilet and showers. Pitch was nice and flat. Nice gentleman welcomed us and told us all we needed to know. Depending on where you pitch you may need plenty of cable for electric hook up. Worth checking before you pitch up so you can have your tent nearer the hook up point. We have 15metre and it was just enough.

None this is a lovely site.

From the second we arrived to the moment we left we absolutely loved our weekend away at Whitegates leisure. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating, the facilities were spotless and well kept, and the site was not far from everywhere we wanted to visit. We even called earlier than our expected arrival day to book in a night earlier and the staff made it possible, the lady on the phone even went out of her way to check the weather forecast for us. We will definitely be returning!
