POD is basic but provided a good base. I traveled with my 13 year old son and we took all the camping accessories that you would need. We go for the fishing on site which offers a good variety of fish to a decent size

Lovely peaceful setting just outside York. Very handy for the Park and Ride, access to the ring road and a huge retail shopping park with supermarkets. Very friendly and informative welcome providing lots of tips for access into York and surrounding area. Facilities were modern, clean and perfectly adequate.

Just very minor points - Our pitch was next to a large bush which had gathered a little bit of litter. The flies and midges were insane probably due to the ponds and heat we had so don't forget the insect repellent :-)

We usually go camping with a tent every chance we get ...but we decided to try a bit of glamping. The pods are brilliant. Especially if you want a quick get away. Lovely and clean. Peter is lovely, calls you the day before with help and directions and when you get there has a vast knowledge of York and the surrounding areas. Lovely little fishing lake on site and it's very clean and peaceful. We will definitely be going back. Thank you

Great site, very peaceful, nice facilities, very friendly and helpful owner.

Good location close to Monks Cross and 10 minutes from the city centre.

Will definitely use again as our York option.

First time camper myself and my 10 year old daughter. Peter was a huge help when I struggled with the tent and was full of useful information about the area, there is lots to do nearby. The site itself was lovely and peaceful with owls on site which my daughter got to hold. Very clean toilets and showers. Lovely stay will definitely be returning ☺️

Absolutely loved our stay at wagtail. Everything was perfect including location with a short drive to York. Toilets and showers were spotless. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Pod was spacious and warm. Will definitely return as it was spot on.

Loved everything about this site , fishing with a well stocked lake, lovely relaxed site , owner very welcoming, facilities all great , owls were an added bonus that made our stay amazing , would definitely return.

Excellent and helpful owners, good space foe walking, great facilities for water, washing, showers. Ideal spot for a relaxing break.

No fault of the site, but no footpath to nearby village of Huntington to get bus to York.

The worst camp site I’ve ever been to with my little family, we took two 1 year olds and a 4 year olds.
And well it was just horrendous!!
From the moment we arrived we felt intimidated and uncomfortable.
We was been spoke through where to pitch etc and park (god forbid you don’t put your tent or car in the exact spot he’s pointed his finger) my 4 year old touched a plastic plant pot with fake plants in… the man was not best pleased and proceeded to tell my son not to do that… what did he think was going to happen when he’d pitched us practically on top of this silly plant pot.
If you are a family who are going away for a laugh and to make some memories this isn’t the place you could barely say boo.
You couldn’t hear a voice on this site. It was full of couples and elderly, it should most definitely be advertised as “adults only “

The intimidation carried on as did the been told of for petty things such as the car been 2 inch’s to the left of where he wanted it etc.

He was around way to much for my liking I get he owns the site but he would be sat watching from his garden or hed be walking the little 1 to 2 acre field he had with us all in just been intimidating.

We paid £147 Friday to Monday. We packed up and left Saturday afternoon with kids in tears and very upset parents.
