Staff are lovely and shop well stocked, arcades not bad although change machines are a bit fussy with notes, food was really nice in boarders and fish box had lovely BIG fish. Swimming pool is well maintained and the cleaners of showers ect had there work cut out for them with scruffy people on the site.

Some activities were a bit too expensive for our liking but we had 6 kids with us so it gets a bit pricey.
Some age restrictions are silly too but whatever insurance says i guess.
Our tent got damaged so left it there as it was bad weather (nothing the site could of done to prevent this tho)

Plenty of pitches to choose from. Toilets were clean and well maintained through the day. The staff were lovely and helpful and friendly. We cut our stay short because the weather was so bad. Not anything the site could do about that and it says it all that we are hoping to go back again soon.

Toilet roll holders were all jammed up at the night.
It’s not well lit if you’re heading to the loo at night and as we had wet weather the ground was very muddy and boggy.
The restaurant only serves breakfast till 10:30am so be aware if you want to eat in. We had to as our camping stove wasn’t working.
Also be aware that The fish n chips and pizza place only open weekends out of season.
Swimming gets booked up easily a day or 2 before so phone ahead for a slot.
It’s a leisure site so expect noise late on.

Swimming baths were the only decent thing there to be honest. Lovely staff too.

Tent pitches were quite hard to find as some were electric hook up and some were not.

Pitch it's self was ridiculous, almost snapped my ankle 20 times in the tent because of the holes in the floor, aswell as the kids.

Booked for 4 nights for £150, I only stayed 1.

Enjoyed the ride around the site on our EUCs and to the beach on our bikes.

I make a point of flying my drone over my van where ever I say and as a fully trained PIFCO license holder I do know what I can and can't do but in this case I was stopped from flying by the owner using the proximity of Sellafield as the reason but I was well outside of there geofencing, I understand it's there land they have the right to say no but please be honest and maybe just put up a sign.

Overall, it’s a great location. You’re not far from the beach and around an hours drive into the Lake District. We booked this site as we were due to meet up with friends and their children in the Lakes and this place had availability and advertised as being child friendly and family centred. This was not at all the case.

Upon arrival, we didn’t know where or even how to check in. There is no clear signage as to where we are supposed to go to check in at all. We eventually asked the staff member in the sales cabin and he directed me to the main Reception. We were given a map and told to pick any pitch, I was rather disappointed that pitches were not allocated as there were very few electric pitches left and we were given no directions of where to go. We had to figure this out for ourselves.

When we eventually found an “electric pitch” we were about to connect our adaptor to get connected to electricity when we realise that the tent behind us (Who shouldn’t have been connected to this electricity might I add) had used all of the sockets that were allocated to our pitch, leaving us without electricity. We did approach this family and asked them to remove their adaptors as they weren’t allocated to them to which they responded F**K off. We then reported this to a member of staff patrolling the area and he said he would sort this out for us… he didn’t. We had no electricity for the duration of our stay and had two young children to entertain.

Upon first impressions, I was already distraught and concerned for the safety of my family as moments after we had our tent set up we were approached by two members of staff to ask us if we had seen a tall man with tattoos. We proceeded to ask why and were told that one of the guests had brought an air rifle into the park and there may also be a machete. As you can imagine as a mother of two having just arrived we were already very uneasy at this point.

Having being terrified by the news we had just received about the weapons being brought into the park, we decided to stay in the tent and not use the facilities at the park until we had clarification it was safe to leave. We were hoping to use the pool on the evening of our arrival however we were not informed that you cannot make same day bookings for any of the activities in the park therefore told we were not allowed as bookings were to be made 24 hours in advance. This should have been stated before we made our booking. We were never given any clarification that the guests with weapons were found or removed from site however we did see the police driving around so I assume they were out looking for these people.

There is no noise control at all at this park, I have never in my life stayed at a campsite or a holiday park that isn’t controlled and monitored. I’ve always expected a 10pm quiet time which the guests have always respected at the places we have stayed in the past. 5AM we got to sleep!!!! We had guests behind us playing VERY loud music until 5AM and the guests to the side of us were incredibly drunk and making lots of noise, the topic of conversation was far from appropriate next to two young children and we heard them discussing what drugs they had brought with them. Completely unacceptable! This just goes to show that people are not searched upon arrival and there is no precautions or safety measures in place for guests at all! Knowing I was in a tent with my two children whilst there were weapons and drugs around us I can only describe this as the worst experience of my life!

We travelled 4 and a half hours to get here for a holiday for our children and we didn’t even stay 24 hours, we didn’t use any of the facilities at all as we were too afraid to leave our pitch. We were offered a partial refund after complaining which is simply not good enough, we should have had the full amount refunded and an offering for the inconvenience and hell we were put though.

This is the first review I have ever written for any place I have stayed but I could not leave these words unsaid. Please if you have children and want to keep them safe on holiday, AVOID this establishment at all costs. We will certainly not ever be returning if things don’t change. We were terrified.

Toilet areas were very clean.

Going up stairs for entertainment, didn't thi k ut was very big for how many people park holds. Also think there should be a curfew for campers. I asked our neighbours to turn the tele down they had with them and I was threatened to be nocked out by the man in the tent.
Every where was wet no signs to say a lady fell over. I wouldn't return

Lovely staff.. beautiful place.. so much to do with small or older children.. had showers and toilets, very clean. Swimming pool is lively with little hot tub.. My kids had the best time..

The evening entertainment for the kids, Staff we’re extremely pleasant.

Sorry but this review is based on the touring camping pitches, Not the Caravans.
This has to be the worst pitch’s we’ve ever encountered, We arrived & had to hunt down a decent pitch suitable for us, We payed for electric hook up & only just got it, The road on our pitches were mud tracks, The pitches were uneven & badly maintained, There is dips & low points in the pitches, When it rains your walking on mud under your tent, We had to move our whole tent ect to a non electric pitch, Very noisy site & no one takes notice of the quiet time after 11pm. Toilet’s hardly cleaned & was filthy, When we saw a cleaner they just did the basins not the WC’s, Showers were good.
The company needs to invest in the camping areas big time, Seems that you’re more interested in trying to sell static holiday homes than putting money into better camping site, It’s just a free for all of tents with no proper pitch set ups like 1st come 1st served … & if your late you get the awful mud bath ones if it rains.
Definitely won’t be on our return list.
