Beautiful place. We saw lots of red squirrels which was wonderful. Lots to do on site with a park, football area, pub, stream to paddle in and a lovely shop with a bakery. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We even stayed an extra night. Lowther Castle walk was really lovely and well worth a visit, especially with children as they have a huge play area with zip wires and lots of slides.

Lovely quiet site right next to the river where the kids could paddle safely.

Lovely walks on the doorstep and very close to Lowther Castle which has a great play park.

Had to use a key to access the toilet/shower facilities which was sometimes inconvenient with the kids. Whilst they were functional and clean, they were quiet dated compared to other sites we have visited.

Also disappointing play park for the size of the site.

It was a lovely holiday site, really nice shop. Everywhere was really clean and secure and absolutely gorgeous views and sightings. We asked to move closer to friends and was moved straight away which was good.

How far the toilets were from the camping area. Love that dogs are welcome on site however, dogs were running around off the lead and one got into our camper and eat food off the sides. The fact you have to pay extra to use your awning.

The site itself was very clean and tidy. There was a number of facilities including a shop, pub and bakery. We took our tent and the pitch was a nice size with plenty of room for your car alongside your tent.

I was disappointed that gazebos weren’t allowed because I have lupus and cannot sit outside in direct sunlight for too long so some form of shade is a must for me. However, the worst part of this site is the toilets and shower block which are a 6-7 min walk away from the camping area. Not quite sure why they put the shower block amongst the static caravans and chalets when they are more often than not used by those who are camping. This was a real problem at night as nobody wants to walk too far in the dark to use the facilities. Personally I wouldn’t book this site again for this reason alone. It seems like a trivial point but it really does ruin your stay. I also thought this site was very expensive but the facilities certainly don’t account for that price. We paid double the usual nightly rate expecting a nice site and it’s not as good as some of the much cheaper alternatives

We had a great time, pitch right by the park. We had a lovely little walk by the stream. Short drive to Lowther castle.

Loved how quite it was and was in a lovely setting. Shower block had a bath too which is great for younger children. Pitched right next to the park too which our youngest loved.

Just how far the walk was for the toilet, no way near the camping section but right in the middle of the static caravan part which is weird as only used by campers & tourers
