The amazing, relaxed, well-kept campsite with lovely surroundings, clean toilets, very helpful host, amazing board for paddle board and on site cafe. Had such a lovely stay and weather was awesome too.

The staff in the cafe refusing to share wifi password after my phone had got hung on a stupid automatic software update overnight and wouldn’t activate without wifi access.

Well maintained grounds very pretty lake.

We loved the cafe, and having access to the lake for paddleboarding & kayaking. The surroundings were beautiful and the campsite wasn't too large that it became overly busy.

Flat pitches and good soil for pegging tents. Choice of pitch and relaxed atmosphere. Firepit hire and lake access lovely. Good location for beach and local pub ;)

Only two showers and toilets in block. And one toilet by the cafe. So on a busy weekend quite a few queues formed. Hard to keep clean when raining but generally well stocked with loo roll and cleaned regularly. A bin at the washing up sinks would be welcomed for all those little scraps of rice left in the bowl.

The Purple Turtle cafe was really lovely, as were the staff. The
Milkshakes went down a storm - we had Oreo and Crunchie. And the coffee was very nice. The lake was great and we spent the day paddleboarding and swimming. And it was a good touch to have wood, meat and eggs offered by staff driving around the site. Great for the kids to have the extra field to play ball in away from the tents. And lovely walk to the pub!

Could definitely do with expanding the facilities by adding another couple of toilets and showers

Nothing

We loved this campsite! And will definitely go back! The showers were hot and the campsite was clean and tidy. This campsite would definitely benefit from more toilets and showers but never waited to long. And could text if the toilets needed a little TLC which we did and they got it sorted immediately. I also mentioned the lights at night weren’t working (solar lights and we had a lot of rain and no sun) and they put extra strip lights in which were brilliant! The lake was so much fun to paddle board in with friends and kids. The food and drink at the cafe was lovely and definitely worth a try, rather expensive tho for a sandwich so took the kids a picnic to the lake. The lady that does the paddle boarding lessons is excellent she was so much fun and great with my autistic son that kept trying to knock us off so she kept giving him challenges to keep him busy (he took to paddle boarding like a duck to water). There was groups of people with so many kids we loved that the field had a big middle for the kids to play and that there was also a field to play bat and ball and fly kites.

The logs were very Smokey I’m not sure they had been seasoned long enough.

Beautiful site situated amongst fields and trees and of course right next to the lake. Pitch size was ample, level and very relaxed about where and how you set up. Playing field for kids, very safe, paddle boards and kayak left out overnight.
Lake was great fun deep in places so life jackets essential for young children. Plenty of launching areas and picnic tables to put your stuff.
Nice walks from site and a pub in walking distance. Cafe on site, closes at 3. You can hire fire pits and logs from the site at a reasonable rate. No Wi-Fi but 4G was fine.

Didn’t really dislike anything, however, they could do with more toilets and showers in a purpose built block. What was there was clean and perfectly usable.
