stayed for 1 night. brilliant time so much to do and to hear all the kids playing and laughing made it much more fun, we have booked to go again 😊

The wild camping feel

We had a bell tent and came back after a few hours to it being covered in bed bugs. Had to move. Luckily there were others available to move to. Wouldn’t be in any rush to return

It met its purpose as a central meet up spot for our group, we loved the little woodland area we stayed in containing the camping pods and it felt like we had a lovely space to ourselves for the children to play. The site was large and on our first night relatively empty and quiet.

The whole site feels abandoned and slightly eerie!
Bathrooms could’ve been cleaner but on the whole were ‘ok’…
Pods were a bit dirty, lots of dust and cobwebs but understandably in the woods are probably tricky to keep clean!
The staff we interacted with were friendly, but also seemingly slightly clueless

Comfy beds

Toilets were not good. Ladies not too bad, just lacking toilet roll and toilet seat lids that didn’t stay up. Gents was filthy. Toilets blocked and smeared in poo. We spoke to reception about it but nothing happened to improve the situation.

Security - non-existent. Anyone could access the site. We left a few non-valuable bits outside of our tent overnight and they were stolen.

Noise from nearby pub - very loud until late. Kept kids awake.

Be aware that whilst the dark green bell tents are great for sleeping in, they are very, very dark even during the day - so don’t expect to play a game of cards!

Trolley system is ridiculous. You are meant to use the trolleys to transport your stuff and then return them. Some selfish types kept the trolleys in their accommodation over the weekend meaning that there were no trolleys available for others to use.

The woodland hideout hut had electricity and usb plugs

Washing up facilities are very limited
No recycling
Family shower rooms showers were cold

The facilities were of a fairly good standard.

Electric hook up was very far from pitch- we needed two long extension leads.
Using trolleys to get equipment to pitch from the car park. We needed to do three trips to our car with two young children and a dog to care for, less than ideal.
Not being able to pitch until 4pm, despite check out being 10am.

The area of the camp side is really nice.

The cars can not be parked on side, you need to use trolley to move the staff from car park to camp side. The problem is that they got not enough trolleys , so is almost impossible to get one. The toilets are dirty . As well is not easy to find the place .

The hut was very clean, in lovely location under the trees and even had lighting and power which I wasn't expecting. Made for a very comfortable night

Toilet facilities were excellent.

It's quite far from the car park and although there are trolleys, none were available.

Easy check in and very clean bedding.

Self catering kitchen wasn’t open

Site and facilities really clean. Pitches spacious. Camp warden was a lovely lady.

The Pitch Up description is misleading and reads as though it’s a camp site close to Gullivers, however the camp site is actually within Gullivers dinosaur and farm park. We don’t have children and it was definitely a children’s resort, we expected to be on a camp site with lots of tents, not dinosaur themed cabins, we wouldn’t have booked if this had been made clear. It took us half an hour to find it as the postcode given took you somewhere else and when driving around searching we kept ending up at a theme park/resort turnstile entrance thinking there had to be a mistake.
Once in the car park we set off on foot through the turnstiles to reception and realised we were in the right place except we were told that there was no closer access to the camping and that we had to load our belongings onto a trolly. We walked back to the car with a trolly, loaded the trolly in the busy car park, Then had to walk through the resort with our belongings to the camping area which was far away. They only had 1 trolly at the time so we had to take 2 trips. We were Informed that up until last year you could drive in and get closer to the camp site but that the rules have since changed.

On the last day I walked to the trolly area which is at the entrance but there weren’t any. Reception was closed so had to walk all the way back the camp to grab my phone to call the 247 reception number and ask for a trolly. The person advised he had 1 in the restaurant (they sound like a scarcity). I then had to walk all the way back to the entrance to collect the trolly that they had found for me. As there was only 1 trolly I had to do 2 trips to the car again which meant leaving half of our belongings unattended in the middle of the camping area. Not convenient, a lot of effort and very time consuming, wouldn’t have booked if I’d known this was the case.
