Absolutely tremendous campsite with the most amazing staff…. We spent New Year’s Eve there last night. It was our best New Year’s Eve yet 🙏🏻 Would highly recommend to anyone who would like to relax in a lovely quite woodland surroundings, but enjoy the the leisure facilities like the pool and gym all for budget prices, it’s an absolute gem 💎 of a campsite 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I asked to be put in a secluded section due to us having a dog which we was the only down fall was you can park by your pods it's a very tight squeeze. I stopped in pof 15 and it's and the dead end of three pods. The first night was fine then a family with little children turned up in the next pod and a camper which parked where we should park in the pods car park So I felt quite trapped in at the end. You could here the children running about in the pod till gone midnight it sounded like they were literally banging on our pod .. they wasn't but the noise just echoed being so enlosed in. The pods warm but it was on quiet a bad slope so the door slammed open if left open a tad. One dim light outside the whole area of three pods so its pitch black so if youre considering checking in is after 4pm it's pretty difficult unloading your car in the dark when you can't park next to your pod. When we got there on a Thursday evening it was pitch black no lights on really anywhere or any lit up directions to reception. We had to drive round twice in the dark to figure out where it was. We was told to go to reception and there's a number to ring on the doors for keys. We finally found it and a chap came about 10 mins later took me to my pod and even he was shocked we had no outside lighting. The problem I had we couldn't find anywhere for my dog to play or to go toilet. If there was it was not marked or signed anywhere. Every green area had no fouling. The toilets said no dogs allowed in too so what was I supposed to do with my dog being on my own.? The nature reserve is no dogs too. The pods are on the road on the main entrance so cars and mi I buses back and forth not ideal. I wanted a peaceful stay but the club house is very loud and rowdy on fri / sat night.. shouting ect. Not the peaceful woodland get away sadly. Great for families I guess. I wanted to use this as a Base to explore the lakes to come back and relax and have an early night ready for the next day but unfortunately this didn't happen and I left a day early. Gutted really. No working WiFi in pod so download maps to explore prior to arrival.

Prices are amazing! The pod we stayed in was clean, private and large enough for 2 adults and all essential gear. The toilets and shower facilities are of a good, clean standard and it was a pleasure to have the bar, pool and gym on site to use so close to pods and all with no extra charges incured! Will not be forgetting to mention a big shout out to the staff, lovely people and really helpful. Highly recommend.

Location, easy to get to, access to Kendal and Silverdale. Beautiful nature reserve on site, pool/gym facilities were great (would have liked the steam room to have been in use for that extra something for the adults!) reasonable decent food from the restaurant and clean washing facilities and friendly helpful staff.
