We arrived for two nights, later than we thought - I did telephone to leave a message as reception was closed. We looked through the door but missed the sign! Luckily a lady in the field told us about the map ! We were right at the top of the huge field in the corner by a footpath - which would have been fine if the camper to the right hadn’t been diagonal - camper to the left had their guy-ropes into our pitch. Fortunately we use an awning on the back of our car and use the car as our camper. We wouldn’t have been able to park at the side of a tent. It was pretty tight in there - while looking down the hill there was masses of space everywhere. We set up camp, a long walk down the well kept grass and beautiful reception area with masses of flowers growing, it all looked well maintained. The toilet blocks are large, basically clean - it was early evening the toilets weren’t that clean, which is down to other users, only 1 soap dispenser was working out of 4 or 5. I did have a shower the next morning which is huge - and the handy window sill is great as a shelf and having the outside space with a bench and hooks is really handy to keep everything dry. The water was a great temperature that you can’t change. The water goes off and on making it really handy to not faff with shower controls.
The view was lovely looking up to the hill- the night sky was vast star gazing was made extra special by bats soaring above our heads and a flock of geese went over the horizon line. The site was very quiet and peaceful, which we like. We kayaked at Stoke Gabriel and had a picnic on Slapton Sand beach with the Ley behind us - the drive along coast line with a trip on Dartmouth Ferry is stunning.

We have enjoyed a two night stay at this campsite. Although when we arrived reception was closed and our name wasn't on the site map displayed on the door, a quick and pleasant phone call soon rectified this. We were given a lovely large flat pitch to enjoy our stay in our VW type 2. The facilities are plentiful and absolutely spotlessly clean at all times of day.
Walking into Stoke Gabriel is a easy and pleasant walk. Walking down the bottom of the field and through the gate on to a lane, walk on until you meet the road . You are then able to walk to the edge of Stoke Gabriel (aprox 20 minute) by mostly walking on the grass verges. At the edge of the village either walk in using the pavements or take the footpath over the hill. This way is more direct for the church and the pub. All in all a very pleasant walk. We had a delicious meal at this pub by the church and the staff were extremely friendly.
I certainly recommend this campsite with its very friendly helpful staff and Stoke Gabriel is a pretty place with lots of areas to explore.

Lots of space for children to play, very friendly staff, ideal setting, fantastic location to site see south Devon, very clean around site and loo shower block amenities great, will be definitely going back next year.

Having to go home? Did not use the site wifi so put a 3 as don’t know what it was like,

A friendly welcome on arrival . A beautiful peaceful site in a stunning location. Plenty of space between pitches. Well kept and clean toilet and shower blocks. Entertainment excellent enjoyed the evenings spent in the barn.

Not enough facilities in lower field for the amount of pitches which were full over bank holiday. Also could have done with a shelf in shower to put soap, shampoo on etc. sloping pitches.

Fabulous site nice lot if space for theirs in lower fields. There was a ban in the barn each night for a couple of hours of the bank holiday and selling Hunts cider was great. Beautiful walks down to Stoke Gabriel, lots of exploring to do, loved it , fabulous people and a lovely well stocked shop. Definitely go again Thanks for a lovely stay

Lovely site . Very spacious pitches.
Good facilities . When we stayed the bar had live music over the weekend . Plenty of walks around the area . Within walking distance of coast. Great value for money. Will definately consider again .

Excellent rustic farm camp site, very spacious and green, live music in the barn was very good, definitely coming back as soon as we can, only negative was the toilets in the lower field but again very good for the price, 100% coming back asap
