Hosts were lovely and very communicative, from messages with additional directions ahead of arrival, to the personal touch of visiting each guest later in the evening AND messages with wonderful recommendations for places to visit for breakfast on departure (The Straw Kitchen at Whichford Pottery, was definately worth going to!).
A lovely find! I would 100% return.
Δεν μου άρεσε: Had trouble finding the entrance to the field. Sat-nav takes you to the farm yard in error .... hosts additional directions were therefore invaluable! Some signage would be super helpful to guide weary travellers in!

Loved the long grass between the pitches but pitches are far too close together.

‘Facilities have been kept simple’ translates as ;
* No fresh water tap to fill larger water containers from.
* No hot water to do washing up in.
* No recycling point
Suggestions;
*Possibly some sand buckets around the site incase of a fire (there is 1 fire extinguisher in shelter).
*Signage at gate entrance as even with what 3 words instructions it could be difficult to identify.

Went midweek and lucky enough to be the only people on site so couldn’t of been more peaceful. If you want shower blocks and lots of facilities then this isn’t the site for you. If you want tranquility and love nature then it’s perfect. Matt and Sarah were very helpful, will definitely be back!

Hello, thanks so much for your review. I'm sorry you weren't happy with your stay!
Looking at the dates I think your stay fell on the weekend that allocations were increased from our normal 12 pitches to 14. We didn't realise this had happened until the last two bookings came in at around 7pm! I think one of us must have accidentally put the allocations up, it was the same weekend I was admitted to hospital and Matt was trying to work and look after two small children so it was a bit chaotic. I can only apologise for this, it shouldn't have happened! We will be on the look out for errors like that in future. We feel our pitches are well spaced (certainly compared to what we've experienced at other sites), it's rarely fully booked and people are free to choose where they camp.
We are indeed a take your rubbish home site, we just don't have the means to manage large quantities of rubbish.
One of us would normally pop up to the campsite in the evening to make sure everyone's okay though we're never sure if people prefer to be left in peace! This wasn't possible on the weekend of your stay for the reasons above but everyone does have my direct number that they're encouraged to contact with any problems at all.
There is a tap to fill big containers from but this perhaps need better signage!
We've decided not to signpost the gate but rather give good instruction as it seems sensible to keep the site as private as possible.
Some sand buckets are a good idea, thank you!
There are owls but you're more likely to hear them than see them! It's also worth looking out for hares and deer (including a big white stag).
