In relation to facilities for dogs to be let off the lead in, there is the following:

This park is a short walk up the lane from the campsite. Alternative options are also available in the village. In relation to dogs being kept on the lead while on the site. As the campsite is located on a working farm with adjacent fields with livestock, we hope dog owners understand and act responsibly by keeping dogs on the lead. Additionally we also ask this policy is respected in relation to other campers who may be adverse to dogs, so as to maintain an enjoyable stay for everyone dog owners and non dog owners alike.

The dethatched toilet block, is fitted with heating, we will look into if this needs to be turned up.

With relation to showers they are fitted with controls similar to domestic settings that can be used to alter flowrate and temperature.

Perhaps some consideration could be given to the reasonable differential expectations between a hotel and a campsite.

As we hope you are aware providing water services to a field comes with some challenges.
The campsite was subject to temperatures of -5 degrees Celsius on the day in question, which lead to some water pipes freezing, with some pipe fittings splitting. All campers were notified of these issues and should also have been aware of our efforts to rectify the situation as quickly as possible. Although we recognise guests who were off site all day may not have seen this.

We have now added additional cold weather protection to exposed pipework to limit the likelihood of future occurrences.
The campsite showers are inspected 2 times every day, with a full clean occurring during the day. A policy that over the years has been commented on by many campers in their reviews that complement us of how clean and tidy our facilities are. We do acknowledge that being a campsite, sometimes grass, water and mud can lead to challenges keeping floors clean. This is why in addition to regular cleaning, buckets and mops are provided in the shower rooms, so each camper could clean up after themselves before another camper use the facilities.
We realise this may not have been your experience but hope you can understand the additional challenges the cold weather brought, not only to our campsite, but the whole country, and the normal factures associated with campsites that have grass areas to camp on as well as hardstanding.

As bookings usually commence from 2pm onwards without prior agreement, we welcome that an attempt was made to phone before making the booking.

Thank you for phoning on arrival. As we believe was explained to you in a courteous and calm manner in the welcome area. As your party had arrived before the normal booking time and the campsite host on duty was not aware of your early arrival, a number of checks needed to be made both verbally with other staff members, and by review of booking records before the full facts of the situation could be ascertained. We hope there is an appreciation that there are a number of considerations that need to be taken into account in these situations, for example the security of the Campsite and other Guests already on the site, arriving or out for the day.

We also appreciate that you have mentioned the host spent the time to help formularise your group with the campsites facilities and actions to be taken in the event of a fire etc. We believe the host would have probably also mentioned things like, fire pit policies, recycling points, disposal points, policies relating to pets and other information your review may have overlooked or indeed would be best achieved in person, on site.

We appreciate your comment about a bad taste being left in your mouth, but hope it is understood, by the frequency of the 10 out of 10 reviews we normally receive, this was a rare and unusual occurrence.
